California's Coachella might seem a world away from Falls Festival in Byron Bay, but the two share a common link through one Australian designer.

Spell and The Gypsy Collective has become a favourite among celebrities and has been worn by Vanessa Hudgens, Megan Fox, Isabel Lucas and Nicole Trunfio.

Most recently the 'vintage inspired' brand has been worn by Miley Cyrus, who visited the Byron Bay store after hours on New Year's Day with Chris Hemsworth's wife, Elsa Pataky.

'She grabbed a few different pieces from current upcoming collections,' Spell's co-owner Elizabeth Abegg told Daily Mail Australia.

'We’ve already spotted her in one of our tops.

'She paired it with denim and looked pretty babe'n.'

Miley landed in JFK in a Folk Town Boho Dress, available online in February.

Miley Cyrus was in Byron Bay with her former fiance, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth. The pair attended Falls Festival, sparking rumours that they were back together.

Miley visited the store with Elsa Pataky, who is a fan of the brand and regularly wears their designs.

While Elizabeth said she and her sister Isabella Pennefather, who together own the brand, were not in store at the time, their team described Miley as 'very cool (as expected), humble and friendly'.

The celebrity influence has shown Spell and The Gypsy Collective has come a long way since Isabella, whose nickname is Spell, started making jewellery at home to sell at the markets.

'We grew the brand organically and made some very clear decisions to make the online world our priority,' Elizabeth said.

'Between blogging and our online store and eventually Instagram and other social media it’s really blossomed in Australia and internationally.

'Sienna Miller was our first major celebrity to wear Spell, we spotted her wearing our handmade jewellery to her own collection launch, and then wearing one of our tees with denim on the high street in London.

'She was our ultimate style muse at the time so it was very exciting for us.

'Most of the celebrities’ that wear our stuff have found Spell on their own organically, we often see them purchasing things on our online store and then contact them to see if we can send them some extra things – from there a lovely relationship grows and we stay in touch.

'We also have a lot of celebs visit us when they’re in Byron Bay for festivals – it’s such a busy time during Splendour [in the Grass].'

But it's not just celebrities who attend Australian festivals that have embraced Spell's effortless style.

'When Vanessa Hudgens got snapped at Coachella in 2014 in one of our rompers, we sold out over night which was amazing,' Elizabeth said.

'When celebrities wear our things, it is very flattering, but we don’t mind who it is wearing our pieces as long as they feel beautiful.

'I still get a buzz when I’m down the street and I see someone looking gorgeous wearing one of our dresses.

'If it makes them feel beautiful then it’s mission accomplished.'
