Possibly heading for home to spend some quality time with his family, the former England international's appearance came just days after he spoke about his relationship with his eldest son Brooklyn.
Having left home as a teen to pursue his football career, David reflected on life now as a father to teenage boys - especially in regards to 16-year-old Brooklyn.
Speaking to Australian TV show The Project to promote his UNICEF documentary, he admitted Brooklyn's mother, Victoria, struggles more about their eldest son growing up - especially when it regards dating.
'I think it's easier for me than his mum, you know? To see her little boy go out and date,' David said with a laugh.

David and his fashion designer wife have four children together, sons Brooklyn 16, Romeo 13, Cruz 10 and four-year-old daughter Harper.
'Obviously for mums I think it's slightly more difficult with the boys but obviously once Harper starts, then I don't even want to think about that at the moment,' he added nervously.
The sporting great has admitted in the past that the rules will be very different for his little girl Harper when she wants to date.
The father-of-four also confessed it was a little odd to think his eldest son is the same age now that he was when he left home.

At 16 David left his parent to head to Manchester and pursue his football career - a move he said he'd support his own children with, if they were truly passionate about something.
'It's one thing I always tell my kids. If they're passionate about something, they need to go for it,' he said.
As to how he'd feel about his children leaving the nest?
'Probably exactly how my mum and dad felt,' he said, adding: 'My mum was on the doorstep crying her eyes out. You know, my dad shed a tear, I'm sure, but not in front of me.'

The football superstar has had an illustrious career that has extended far beyond the sporting arena and highlights his own passions.
David has been a UNICEF goodwill ambassador for the past 10 years, and this year will release a special documentary about his seven football matches across seven continents for the charity.
'I wanted to do a trip that really sums up exactly what my career's been about and obviously what the game is about,' the English player told Carrie.
Ten years: David has been an ambassador for UNICEF for the past decade and filmed a documentary with the charity for the BBC
He also wanted to highlight the places he has visited with the children's charity over the past few years.
This year, to mark his 10 years as an ambassador, UNICEF are launching 7: The David Beckham Fund, which aims to protect millions of children from danger.
The documentary combines not only his passion for the charity and helping children in need, but also his love of the game which he has played for the last 20 years.
