'It's the best!' Ellen Page gushes about her love for 'awesome' artist girlfriend as she promotes new film at Sundance

Ellen Page has been promoting her new film Tallulah at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah without her girlfriend Samantha Thomas at her side.

But the petite star says their relationship is still going strong after they went public with their romance at the Toronto Film Festival back in September.

'She's home working,' Page, 28, told E! as she walked the red carpet at the movie's premiere on Saturday.  'I wish she could be here.'

The star of Juno and Freeheld lives with Thomas, a surfer and artist, in Los Angeles.

And she says she is 'absolutely' in love with her.

'She's awesome and we have so much fun together,' Page said of Thomas.  'We love each other and support each other. It's the best.'

In Tallulah, the former star of The West Wing plays the mother of Page's boyfriend who she turns to for help after kidnapping a baby.

Page is Lu, a restless young woman who babysits the child of an alcoholic trophy wife whom she considers to be a bad parent and decides to take the child to rescue it from bad mothering.

The movie has already been picked up for digital distribution by Netflix.

Page literally got a leg up at Saturday's red carpet event for Tallulah, thanks to pals Allison Janney and Sian Heder.

The Canadian actress, who stands 5 feet and one inch tall, stars with six-foot-tall Janney in the dramedy written and directed by Heder.

Both Janney and Heder lifted Page up into the air with all three laughing as photographers snapped their picture.

It's the second time that Janney, 56, and Page have starred on screen together: They were both in Juno, the 2007 film that earned Page a Best Actress Oscar nomination.

While Page walked the red carpet solo, Janney brought along her  hunky younger boyfriend Philip Joncas, 35.

The actress and the production coordinator first met on the set of the film The Way Way Back, released in July 2013.

They went public with their romance this past September when Janney planted a big wet on on Joncas after she won an Emmy for her TV series Mom.
