The Rogers Area Youth Basketball Association girls' high school team in Minnesota were told by the North West Basketball Association they would no longer welcome to play matches. They say that the news came in a letter just the day before they were due to play in a showcase tournament and while the girls were on a three game winning streak. It read: 'The Northwest Suburban Basketball League decided RAYBA does not fit into the league. The main reason they made this decision is because other teams do not want to play RAYBA due to the skill level.'

A man wearing a turban protesting during a Donald Trump campaign rally Sunday was ejected, as the billionaire called him out. The Republican presidential candidate's rally in Muscatine, Iowa was interrupted by a group of protesters, which the man was a part of. Referring to the man wearing the turban, the businessman said: 'He wasn't wearing one of those hats, was he? Was he wearing one of those things? And he never will, and that's OK because we got to do something folks because it's not working.'

Peyton Manning brought his bashful four-year-old son Marshall with him to speak with the press after the Denver Broncos beat the New England Patriots 20-18 in the AFC Championships on Sunday. College student Madeline Scalf was killed when she lost control of her car and crashed into a tree on Saturday in North Carolina. Rosa McCollough-Leake hit another vehicle head on after hitting a patch of ice and crossing over into oncoming traffic in North Carolina.

Millions of Americans didn't even leave their apartments on Saturday during the crippling blizzard. This woman, however, couldn't have cared less. Perhaps oblivious to the blistering cold, or spurred on by a bet, the unidentified brunette was captured on film running through Morgantown, West Virginia, in nothing but a white t-shirt.

UPDATED Police are trying to find Jonathan Thieu, Hossein Nayeri and Bac Duong, and are investigating how they managed to get out of the Orange County Central Men's Jail in Santa Ana. The trio, who are awaiting trial for a string of violent crimes including murder and torture, were last seen at 5am on Friday during the morning inmate head count. They are now on the run and considered to be armed and very dangerous. It's been revealed that men cut through half-inch steel bars, made their way through plumbing tunnels and rappelled down four storeys from the roof using a makeshift rope. A source has said a bloodhound lost the inmate's scent when they got to the road, suggesting a car may have been waiting to pick them up. Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens said: 'I can tell you that this is a very sophisticated-looking operation.'

Jay Flatland and Paul Rose, from Kansas, Missouri uploaded a video to YouTube earlier this month of their super-fast robot successfully unscrambling a Rubik's cube in just 1.047 seconds. The Guinness World Record for fastest time to solve a Rubik's cube is held by an Florida student's robot, which solved the puzzle in 2.39 seconds in November. Their machine uses the Kociemba Rubik's cube solving algorithm, which determines which moves need to occur for the cube to be solved quickly.

Michael Paul Koch, of Grand Saline, was taken into custody after arrest warrants were issued for interference with a police service animal by killing and evading arrest. He was caught as hundreds gathered on Saturday to remember the dedicated K-9 dog who was shot in the line of duty in Grand Saline, Texas on Tuesday afternoon. According to Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith , members of the Smith County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division, Dallas Police Department and Garland Police Department all aided in Koch's capture. The K-9, Ogar, was working with his handler, Deputy Constable Kevin Petty, when Petty pulled over a man during a traffic stop on I-20 West. During the stop, the suspect, later identified as Michael Paul Koch, 35, fled the car and into the woods. Ogar dashed after him. Within a few minutes, Petty heard the sounds of gun shots.

NEW Charles Price kept a six-foot alligator in a large cage in the basement of his Illinois home for 26 years. Neighbors reportedly were unaware the animal was living there and had never seen it. The 200-pound reptile was removed from the home after a repairman spotted it and called animal control.

The German engineering team behind the FlyShip (illustrated inset left and main) said it is set to revolutionize the way we travel across sea. It would primarily be used as a maritime transport vehicle, but could also be used as a commercial passenger transport and even for military uses, including anti-piracy missions. According to designs, the FlyShip can hold 100 passengers, has a cabin space area (pictured inset right) of 1,500 square ft, is about 121ft long and has a wingspan of 131ft.

An 85-year-old grandpa has been dubbed the 'coolest old grandfather' by Chinese internet users. The unbelievable incident was filmed during a live TV morning show broadcast in Slovakia and has unsurprisingly gone viral across the internet. The footage shows chef Lubomir Herko, 36, using a credit card to move a white powder into a line alongside a rolled up bank note. A police probe is now underway but the chef insisted the substance was powereded sugar, not real cocaine

The striking pictures were taken by photographer Michelle Lynn Fritz, from Pennsylvania in the U.S., where she creates the bubbles and lights them up against the rising sun in her back garden. She only uses regular children's bubble solution, mixed with a couple of squirts of glycerine for added stability. Ms Fritz sprinkles snow or crashed ice on to a glass topped table to keep the bubbles whole. After she blows a bubble, she catches it on a wand, and lowers it on to the table, before snapping the frozen droplet as the sun rises.
