A British explorer attempting to become the first person to make a solo crossing across Antarctica has died from complete organ failure, his family has announced. Former Army officer Henry Worsley, 55, from Fulham, London, was 71 days in to his attempt to become the first adventurer to cross the continent completely unsupported and unassisted, but with just 30miles to go to complete the history-making journey, he had to call for help and was airlifted off the ice on Friday. His wife has now released a statement confirming his death from 'complete organ failure', and saying she was 'heartbroken'.
Ex-Dragons' Den star Doug Richard 'paid girl, 13, hundreds of pounds for sex after meeting her on sugar daddy website'
Richard, of north London, denies three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity and a charge of paying for sexual services of a child. The millionaire (second from the left), who appeared on BBC's Dragons' Den in the first two series, allegedly arranged for a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old friend to join him at a £149-a-night apartment in central London. A prosecutor said today that Richard (pictured, right, today) is expected to claim he reasonably believed the girl was 16 or over at the time.

'Soon in Champs Elysees': Chilling threat of Paris terrorist brandishing head of man he has just decapitated in martyrdom video - before ISIS claim Britain will be next target
ISIS have released a barbaric propaganda video showing each of the Paris attackers - including Belgian jihadi Bilal Hadfi (pictured) - beheading prisoners and training with weapons before they carried out the city massacre which left 130 people dead. The video features threats from Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the mastermind of the attacks, and also shows each of the other militants carrying out a horrific execution. The video finishes with the jihadi group claiming the UK is next on their target list in reaction to Britain's decision to carry out airstrikes in Syria.
Jealous boyfriend is jailed for drowning his girlfriend's puppy in scalding bath because he said she gave it too much attention
Anthony Bruce, 19, of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, drowned Old English Sheepdog Benji in the bath behind his girlfriend Lauren Brattle's back because he was jealous about the time she dedicated to her pet. For months, he tormented the dog by locking it outside and feeding it toilet paper. However, Ms Brattle, 18 (pictured with Benji, and with Bruce, inset), was oblivious to what her controlling boyfriend was doing to her six-month-old puppy until the day he confessed to killing her beloved pet. Bruce was sentenced to 16 weeks in a Young Offender Institution at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court in December and banned from owning animals for life. Ms Brattle now says she wants nothing more to do with Bruce, and claims she should have listened to her nan who 'always said he had evil in his eyes'.
Asylum seekers given free food and housing complain they are forced to wear coloured wristbands to collect meals
Asylum seekers in Cardiff, Wales, claim they are being denied food unless they wear specially marked bands - making them 'an easy target for abuse and harassment'. Those behind the scheme say it is the only way to ensure asylum seekers receive food or weekly allowance in the form of supermarket vouchers. But the move has sparked outrage amongst the migrant community, many of whom are being put up in Lynx House - a B&B; now so overrun by refugees the entire road has now been dubbed 'Asylum Street'.

Acne pill nearly kills woman 22: Horrified to learn massively swollen leg was caused by a blood clot
Lauren Brown, 22, from York, had been prescribed Co-cyprindiol - commonly known by the brand name Dianette - for skin problems. Pain and swelling in her leg (right) revealed she had DVT. The condition has left her with life-changing symptoms including chest pains and breathlessness and the possibility a blood clot may form on her lungs. She said: 'My job, relationship and social life have all been affected - but I feel lucky to be alive, as I now know that blood clots can be life threatening.' However until, now, she admits she had no idea the Pill carried an increased risk of complications such as clots. She now wants to warn other women of the dangers and urge them to seek help immediately if they suspect they may be developing DVT.

Woman who was bullied on Facebook after posting a selfie of her tattooed eyebrows hits back at trolls by saying the inking 'suits her better' than the natural look
Mandy Lamrini, from Berlin, shared a photograph mid-way through the inking on January 19 and told her social media followers that she was 'satisfied' with how the permanent treatment looked. But after sharing the snap, the bar worker was subjected to vile abuse. Mandy has now hit back at criticism and said the tattoos 'suit her better' than the natural look. Pictured clockwise from top left, Mandy's natural brows, after the treatment and during the procedure.

Now the big dig begins! America's East Coast struggles to recover after Storm Jonas dumped 40 inches of snow and killed 30 people in trail of devastation
Federal offices and schools will remain closed in the nation's capital on Monday and public transportation will continue to be affected. State offices in Virginia and Maryland will also remain closed and the House of Representatives do not plan to hold any votes this week. Flights will be limited at Reagan and Dulles International Airports, which remained completely shut down Sunday, and more than 1,300 flights have already been cancelled. Meanwhile, New York City opened up subways, mass transit (pictured top right is an Amtrak train in DC) and roadways after closing and shutting down the systems to deal with the massive snowfall, which accounted for the second biggest blizzard the city has seen since 1869 (pictured main and bottom left are Virginia residents digging out a record two feet of snow). Thirty people have been reported dead as a direct result of the storm making it the the deadliest blizzard to hit North America in at least five years.
