She once shaved her head for charity.

But pop star Jessie J was clearly keen to go for a more feminine look when she took to Instagram on Sunday - posting images of herself in a variety of wigs.  

The chart-topper, 27, indulged in a trio of selfies as she took to the social media site.

Posting the first shot, which sees her pouting a the camera while on a photo-shoot set, she captioned it: 'When you throw an old wig on and look completely different (INSTA)NTLY ..... MAD! *Sings every song from Who you are*'.

Unsurprisingly, the image was 'liked' by more than 100,000 of her keen followers. 

One was so moved they responded: 'MY HEART ALMOST STOP! Please bring it back, Jess. Damn I get so emotional, I was listening the album today, the best ever.'

On a second shot, which showed her with a longer version of the same style, she captioned it with: 'Like I'm 12 years old'.

That too garnered more than 80,000 'likes', while a third image clocked-up 85,000 affirmations from her loyal fans across the world.

One even likened her to an A-list Hollywood movie star, saying: '[You] look like Angelina Jolie, beautiful [sic]'.

December saw Jessie not only jetting off to Cambodia for a gig, but also performing at various events and shows in the US - culminating in her performance at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.

And 2016 will see her take on yet more work as she returns as a judge on The Voice Australia, while she has also slated more performances in Europe for February. 

She also recently tweeted: 'Just got the news my 'Flashlight' video has been nominated at the BRIT awards!'.
