The American woman thought to have been raped and murdered while vacationing in Grenada has been named as Jessica Colker, an anesthesiologist from Atlanta. The 39-year-old was found dead on a deserted stretch of beach after she was attacked by a man armed with a cutlass while she was walking with her husband, Britan Melito (both pictured). Her husband survived the attack at the world-famous La Sagesse resort on Saturday night and police sources in St. George's, the capital of the Caribbean island said that a man is being questioned, although no arrests have been made. Nicholas Wiltgen, 39, pictured top, a senior digital meteorologist with the station, crashed into a wall and ended up in the adjacent hotel while he was behind the wheel of his Volkswagen Eos 3.2 on Sunday. He had been tweeting throughout the weekend about the blizzard that caused chaos on the East Coast. After smashing into the wall, hotel staff rushed out and tried to perform CPR on him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, pictured bottom. Colleagues in the media rushed to pay tribute to the experienced correspondent. Al Roker, co-anchor of The Today Show, said on Twitter his thoughts and prayers are with Wiltgen's family.

Woman, 71, slashed across the face in New York City subway after string of similar attacks

A 71-year-old woman was slashed in the face while riding a subway train in Manhattan Monday morning, making it the four such attack since the beginning of the year.

According to the NYPD, a southbound 6 train was approaching the Bleecker Street station at around 7.15am when a male passenger attacked an elderly Hispanic woman sitting across from him, slashing the left side of her face.

Both the victim and suspect got off the train when it came to a stop.

The slasher, described as a man in his 20s, fled the scene on board a southbound D train departing from the nearby Broadway-Lafayette station.

The injured woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital suffering from a 4-inch laceration to her face.

Investigators described the incident as a random attack, saying the 71-year-old did not know the man who lunged at her with a sharp object.

The suspect being sought by police was last seen wearing red pants, a red hooded sweatshirt and black sneakers.

And luckily for Yoda, a volunteer at the sanctuary spotted the ad and the rescue centre gave him a new home. Now with his long term future secured living at the Farm Sanctuary, Yoda has been thriving and staff say he can't help but sport a cheeky grin.
