Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, welcomed the government’s decision to remove him from the no-frisking list at airports. 

“Finally!! I am glad and have been awaiting this so called and never used Security Exemption Privilege to be removed at airports,” he said in a statement. 

“I am and have been more than ready to give a written consent to remove my name from this VVIP list.” 

He said he is no VIP and was not interested in this privilege. 

A notification is being issued soon by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and sent to all airports in this regard. 

Promoting Sanskrit 

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh feels Sanskrit is the most useful language in the field of science and technology. There is no other language which provides answers to complex philosophical questions. 

“Be it art, literature, science or technology, people are admitting Sanskrit is most useful,” Singh said addressing the launch of a ‘Mahaabhiyan’ to take Sanskrit to every house. The campaign is being led by an educational institution in Lucknow. 

Buzz in Bihar 

With the Bihar Assembly polls nearing, visits of leaders from the Centre to the state has become a regular affair these days. Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal was in Patna to launch an electrification programme for villages of Diyara area. 

Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) and Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation Ram Kripal Yadav were also present with Goyal. 

Pradhan's Nepal trip 

Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is visiting Kathmandu this week for signing of an agreement to lay an oil pipeline from Raxaul in Bihar to Amlekhgunj in Nepal to supply petrol, diesel and jet fuel to the landlocked Himalayan Kingdom. 

During the official visit, he will sign an MoU between Government of India and Government of Nepal for the construction of petroleum products pipeline from Raxaul to Amlekhgunj. During his address to the Constituent Assembly of Nepal on August 4, 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised that India would build the petroleum pipeline to Nepal. 

DRDO's new move 

India's premier defence research organisation DRDO has now roped in yoga guru Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurveda Limited to manufacture and market in the country and abroad some herbal supplements and food products developed by it. 

DRDO on Sunday entered into licensing agreements with Ramdev’s company for transfer of Seabuckthorn technology-based products developed by Defence Institute of High Altitude Research.
