Don't cry for me America! Madonna ends US leg of Rebel Heart tour on a high... with a longer show and a song from Evita after fans blasted her for series of late arrivals

Madonna is ending the North American leg of her Rebel Heart tour on a high note with two concerts in the home of the Miami Heat.

On Saturday, the first show proved the Material Girl is back with a vengeance after a rough week that had fans question her commitment to the concert tour, a tour that's rumored to be her last and is now heading to Asia.

The 57-year-old singer arrived in Miami after a January 18 concert in Nashville where she was blasted by country music star Reba McEntire for arriving on stage 90 minutes late, and allegedly drunk and slurring her lines.

None of that nonsense is happening in Miami. The concert started about 10.20pm, 50 minutes late.

But then, just about everything is 50 minutes late in Miami.

There were, according to a box office employee, at least 1,000 unsold tickets for the concert at the AmericanAirlines Arena.

Indeed, there were a few pockets of empty seats here and there despite the fact this weekend's shows were supposed to take place in August.

Yet, Saturday night's show would've been flawless if it weren't for an undisciplined microphone that, at times, muffled Madonna's voice.

Madonna couldn't possibly perform if she drunk or drugged out as the show included acrobatics that takes Madonna upside down on a bar that 10 feet in the air and on a wire that's about 25 feet above the stage

This concert ran nearly two and a half hours, almost 30 minutes longer than in other cities.

That's partly because Madonna added a song – her rendition of Don't Cry For Me Argentina from Evita, the 1996 movie in which she played the title role – and several monologues mostly about her years living in South Florida.

'I used to live here, you know,' Madonna told the audience. 'I don't know why I don't live here any more.'

The singer of Like a Virgin and Material Girl owned a waterfront home in the Miami in the mid-1990s. She said the reasons for her departure were, well, 'that's another story.'

From the stage, she acknowledged fellow singer Gloria Estefan in the audience and reminisced about her time in the Magic City with friend Rosie O'Donnell, a TV talk show host who lived a few miles from Madonna, and Ingrid Casares, a local Cuban American nightclub owner with whom Madonna admitted to having an affair.

'We did have a good time,' Madonna said.

Last night, it was also clear Madonna couldn't possibly perform if she drunk or drugged out.

For one thing, the show included acrobatics that takes Madonna upside down on a bar that 10 feet in the air and on a wire that's about 25 feet above the stage.

She climbs a pole made to look like a Christian cross during her song Holy Water.

It's obvious Madonna doesn't use a teleprompter to sing 23 songs, including classics like La Isla Bonita, True Blue and Body Shop, and newer tunes like Rebel Heart and Bitch I'm Madonna

Finally, the cute factor went off the chart toward the end of the show when she danced on stage to with the daughter she adopted in Malawi, Mercy James.

Holding Mercy James, she briefly stopped the show to tell the audience that last night was the girl's 10th birthday, then led the audience in singing Happy Birthday.
