The first of three investigations into Tesco is due to report this morning. Regulator the Groceries Code Adjudicator will reveal how the grocer mistreated its suppliers. The probes, which include others by the Serious Fraud Office and the accountancy watchdog Financial Reporting Council, relate to a £326million accounting black hole that plunged the group into crisis last year.

MONEY NEWS & ADVICE
Bean counters who got dragged through the mud: KPMG checks the books of Britain's biggest firms. But now its own reputation is being called into question
Accountancy firm KPMG is under attack over its audits of a string of bad banks, not to mention allegedly rogue partners and a failure to spot anything awry at scandal-ridden organisations from football governing body Fifa to insurance company Quindell. The Financial Reporting Council last week finally announced it is considering an investigation into its audit of Halifax Bank of Scotland,
Can you get a leg-up onto the property ladder? From boosting deposits to a savings bonus, your guide to Help to Buy
Rising house prices and tougher mortgage application rules can make it seem nigh on impossible for a first-time buyer to get on the property ladder. But a number of deposit-boosting government-backed schemes under the Help to Buy banner could help make your home ownership dream a reality. We explain.
Investors face fresh wave of dividend cuts: Collapsing commodities starting to hit income, report warns
Dividends from UK stocks, including one-off special payouts, are set to fall 1.3 per cent to £86.5billion over the coming year, according to the keenly watched Capita dividend monitor. A rush of big firms slashed payouts in 2015, among them Anglo American, Glencore, Standard Chartered, Centrica and Tesco.
Why it still pays to save into a pension as the Government looks to cut tax breaks for millions: How to kickstart, revive and boost your fund
The pensions landscape is changing radically as the Government seeks to cut the tax breaks it gives to savers. Despite the impending upheaval, experts agree on one thing - you shouldn't write off the traditional way to save for retirement. The Mail on Sunday looks at how to kickstart, revive and boost your pension. Bev and David Staples, pictured, plan to retire to Spain.
From 'shoulder surfing' to the 'Lebanese loop': Make sure you don't become one of the 2,500 cashpoint fraud victims next week
Millions of pounds every year are stolen from people using cash machines. The Mail on Sunday shows you how to fight back against the scourge of cashpoint fraudsters. Last November, Sophie How paid £400 into a cash machine at her local Santander bank. Moments after making the deposit, the person behind her in the queue withdrew £300 from her account, the maximum allowed on her card. Sophie, 23, had accidentally left her card behind in the machine, allowing the person to 'shoulder surf' her PIN and then use it to withdraw the cash.
The seven golden rules of buy-to-let: How rental property can still be a good investment if you do it properly
'The UK population is rising faster than in any other EU country. The one million home shortfall is likely to result in higher rents. This will provide opportunities for landlords,' says London estate agent Jeremy Leaf. But, given the new regulations, first-time investors must plan scrupulously. We've drawn up seven golden rules to make sure you get the best from buy-to-let.
British supercar maker McLaren planning to more than double sales as demand soars
The company, based in Woking, Surrey, sold 1,654 vehicles last year in 30 markets around the world. It is now planning to sell about 3,000 this year and 4,000 in 2017 as it ramps up production. The demand for McLaren cars, including the recently launched Sports Series and its P1, has led to a second shift at its production centre and the creation of 250 new jobs.
Stock markets are reeling and interest rates are going nowhere anytime soon: Here's how to survive the meltdown
A lethal cocktail of plunging oil prices and signs that China's economic growth may shudder to a halt has sent stock markets reeling. Combined with a strong warning to savers from Bank of England Governor Mark Carney that interest rates will not rise this year, these pose big challenges to our finances. Here, The Mail on Sunday provides an action plan for investors, savers and borrowers.
MIDAS SHARE TIPS: China's demand for gas will help Green Dragon roar back to life
Oil prices have been tumbling and the latest data from China suggests the country is growing at its slowest pace for 25 years. Green Dragon Gas is a China-based gas producer, so it might seem counter-intuitive to recommend the shares in the current environment. But the company is expected to produce soaring sales and profits over the next few years and the stock, now 205p, should rise in sync. Green Dragon is the brainchild of Randeep Grewal, an engineer turned entrepreneur, who has spent the past three decades in the oil and gas industry. Grewal went to China in 1992, when the country was just opening its doors to foreign investment. After several years of negotiation with the Chinese, he acquired the rights to explore two million acres of land - roughly the size of Devon and Cornwall combined.
Exposed: The so-called critical illness 'protection' policies that fail to live up to their name
Breadwinners are unwittingly spending hundreds of pounds a year on financial protection insurance that is not fit for purpose. The Mail on Sunday has established that a rump of life insurance companies continue to sell so-called 'critical illness' policies that impose such onerous terms and conditions that making a successful claim for some serious illnesses is nigh on impossible. Breadwinners are unwittingly spending hundreds of pounds a year on financial protection insurance that is not fit for purpose. Hein Pretorius, 44, was denied a payout following an amputation.
JEFF PRESTRIDGE: We've all been hung out to dry on pensions - and now Osborne is assaulting Middle Britain's ability to save for retirement
There was a time - not many moons ago - when Britain led the world in pensions. Companies, big and small, provided some of the best pension arrangements that money could buy. Rolls-Royce was the label banded about to describe the schemes - final salary plans - that most employers had in place to secure their workers a decent financial life in retirement. Sadly, that is no longer the case. Rolls-Royce has been replaced by Reliant Robin. Employees have been hung out to dry.
Millions of savers face pension shock in Budget: We reveal tricks to guard your nest egg from tax onslaught
We explain what is happening to pensions, who will be hit, and what can you do to mitigate the damage. Wealthy savers are being warned to overhaul their pension arrangements and bung as much into their pots as possible up to current tax limits before the Budget on 16 March. The big threat is that Chancellor George Osborne will introduce a 'flat rate' pension tax relief system - ditching the principle that everyone saves for retirement from untaxed income.
What should investors do in a market meltdown? Hold your nerve, rebalance your portfolio, and watch five key indicators for signs of recovery, say experts
Investors watching markets go wild in the past few weeks will be wondering whether they can afford to brazen out further dramatic falls. A slump in oil prices below $30, mounting evidence of an economic slowdown in China, and worries about the impact of higher interest rates in the US have ravaged markets - knocking billions of pounds off the value of UK stocks. So what should investors do in this adverse climate? We round up advice from the experts.
Car for sale: One careful owner, 1,130 miles, £1.8 million. This super-rare used Bugatti Veyron may have an outrageous price, but wait till you see the running costs
Dread that moment when your car mechanic tells you that you need to fit four new tyres to your car? Imagine the groan of discontent if he then told you a set of new rubber cost £24,000. Well that's the reality if you're fortunate enough to afford this outrageous second-hand motor - a one-of-eight Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse that's just gone on sale in the UK.
James Bond's £1m Aston Martin concept car goes up for auction (but it is not even allowed on public roads)
One of only ten built as a concept model for the movie, the car (pictured) has never been in production and is not allowed on public roads. The luxury car firm has asked auction house Christie's to sell the DB10 as a collectors' item to raise funds for Medecins Sans Frontieres, which sends doctors into war-torn regions.

MORE BUSINESS, CITY AND ECONOMY NEWS
George Osborne poised for fresh blow this week as figures show British economy is not as strong as expected
An official report published on Thursday is set to show that output rose by just 0.4 per cent in the final three months of 2015. That would mean the economy grew by 2.2 per cent last year - down from 2.9 per cent in 2014 and weaker than the 2.4 per cent pencilled in by the Treasury. The slowdown could blow a hole in the Chancellor's plans to balance the books, forcing him to raise taxes or cut spending in his Budget in March.
Hedge funds bet £275m on fall in Ocado share price as rumours of bid from Amazon hot up
Grocery delivery firm Ocado has been besieged in the past week by hedge funds placing huge bets on a share price fall at the online company. The rush to 'short-sell' Ocado shares follows an unexpected spike in their price after rumours emerged that the company would soon receive a takeover bid from online giant Amazon. But the number of short-selling positions in the stock has increased dramatically in the past month and shot up again last week.
'I want my name back,' says clothing entrepreneur Karen Millen as she prepares for High Court battle
Fashion designer Karen Millen is heading for a High Court battle with the company she founded to try to recover the right to use her name. Millen set up her business in 1981 with her partner Kevin Stanford. The chain was acquired by Icelandic investor Baugur in 2004. The deal - valued at £95 million - included an agreement that stopped her using her own name in future business ventures. Baugur collapsed in the Icelandic financial crisis and its assets are now owned by banks based in Iceland.
SMALL BUSINESS NEWS & ADVICE
'I'm making craft beer out of Britain's leftover bread mountain: Food waste campaigner offers drinkers Toast Ale
Food waste campaigner Tristram Stuart is launching Toast Ale to make use of the most wasted provision of all - bread - by turning it into beer. About 44 per cent of the bread supplied to the UK sandwich industry is wasted and some 24 million slices of bread are thrown out by Britons daily. On Thursday, a global drive to speed up progress towards hitting a UN target of halving the amount of food wasted by 2030 was launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Live messaging is the future of online sales, says Grabble shopping app boss
Daniel Murray, co-founder of Grabble, an online shopping app dubbed the 'tinder for fashion', predicts 2016 will be the year for personalised services such as instant messaging for the 'busy or bored'. Grabble, an iPhone app that lets people browse the latest collections from fashion retailers such as ASOS and Zara, launched in 2014. Users can swipe right to 'grab' a product and put it in a wardrobe, or left to reject it. The clothes can then be bought via the app.

The art of milking customers has been skilfully demonstrated by our TV and telecoms giants. What I need to do is call up and threaten to leave unless I get a much better deal. However, the problem is that when I sit down to compare the packages different providers offer, the industry's confusion pricing nudges me into giving up before I can complete the task. Fortunately, time appears to have been called on their confusion pricing.
