Suited and booted: Lena Dunham rocks a powder pink two-piece with knee-highs at Sundance Film Festival premiere of her new transgender-based movie

It was a premiere for a film about suits.

So it was fitting that the movie's producer Lena Dunham dressed in a two-piece as she attended its premiere during the Sundance Film Festival on Monday.

Going to the Suited premiere during the annual event, the 29-year-old actress rocked a powder pink two-piece that caught the eye, as she posed with her fellow filmmakers at Park City in Utah.

The Girls star covered her curves with the striking suit, which included a relatively long blazer and matching trousers in the linen fabric.

She added a simple low-cut black vest underneath, keeping it simple and also displaying her ample cleavage as she posed in a variety of ways, including crouched on the floor.

And, somewhat bizarrely, she teamed the ensemble with a pair of knee-high heeled black leather boots, the trousers tucked in and ruching above the knees.

Showing she's never one to go along with conventional looks, she showed off her seasonally-confused look with aplomb, grinning as she helped to promote the new docu-film.

She stepped out on the red carpet along with Girls producer Jennifer Konner and boom-mike operator Jason Benjamin, who she worked with on the documentary movie.

The film focuses on transgender men and how the act of finding a perfect suit - at custom clothier Bindle & Keep in New York - highlights their masculinity while having a profound effect on them.

It follows the story of Derek, who needed a suit for his wedding, Aiden, who required one for his bar mitzvah and interview-bound Everett.

Lena and Jennifer produced the film, the third documentary from their Casual Romance production company.

Jason was inspired by a newspaper article about the suit-makers, expecting the moment someone put on a perfectly fitted suit for the first time would be a happy one.

'In reality,' he explained, 'it turned out to be a much more complex moment that had happiness folded into it.'

A story about people, image and identity, Suited - which is set to air on HBO in June - goes far beyond just being a movie about clothes.  .

And Lena said she was moved by the men, who struggled to find their perfect suit, and their families.

'This movie breaks down certain stereotypes of how a family might react to a person being trans,' she said.

'It really shows examples of people loving their children, not just in spite of their being trans but because of who they are and because of their bravery.'

Meanwhile, the actress and filmmaker stepped out at the annual Sundance Film Festival at the weekend along with Jennifer and Joshua to take portraits to promote the forthcoming TV movie effort.
