That's one way to celebrate Australia Day! Natalie Imbruglia is hooked up to an IV vitamin drip as she detoxes in an Austrian town called 'Bad Aussee'

She is one of Australia's successful vocalists boasting a career that has spanned two decades.

But Natalie Imbruglia, 40, chose to celebrate Australia Day far away from her homeland on Tuesday as she attended a luxury detox retreat in the ironically named Austrian town of Bad Aussee.

Taking to Instagram to document her trip to the Austrian Viva Mayr detox clinic, the singer shared a snap of the surrounding mountainous landscape, captioned simply: 'So peaceful'.

She also made sure to tag the clinic adding the hashtags: '#altaussee #austria #detox #mountains'.

A day earlier, she shared a snap of herself receiving vitamins by way of an IV drip in her arm as she lay swaddled in fluffy sheets inside the clinic. 

'Vitamin drip... With a beautiful view... This place is so peaceful', she cooed in the caption.

While some fans congratulated the busy pop-star for finding time out of her schedule to relax, others expressed concern, with one commenting: 'Are you not well Natalie?'

'Injecting vitamins!!! What's wrong with eating fruit and veg!?' exclaimed another. 

Natalie soon hit back at her critics, commenting: 'For those concerned, I am healthy and well! ��. For all those assuming I'm not eating here because I'm have a vitamin drip, I want to clarify that I AM eating. 3meals a day'.
