Since brushing their differences aside earlier in the week, Stephanie Davis has formed a fond friendship with Gemma Collins.

And it appeared the TOWIE star is totally comfortable with the former Hollyoaks actress now, so much so she felt confident enough to share her honest and controversial opinion of her boyfriend Sam Reece during Wednesday night's episode of Celebrity Big Brother.

Gemma, 34, sensationally claimed Sam - who's appeared on an episode of First Dates - 'just wants to be famous', implying to the 22-year-old's face that he's only in a relationship her because of her celebrity status.

The highlights show saw Stephanie confess that Sam isn't in fact right for her and she 'needs to be single' - an epiphany which was provoked by Gillian McKeith's detox clinic which encouraged her, John Partridge, Scotty T and Tiffany Pollard to address their toxic qualities.

The some-time soap actress couldn't wait to share the revelation with her housemates and bounded into the bedroom to discuss the news with Gemma and Danniella Westbrook.

After telling the pair she felt better for coming to the realisation, Gemma piped up: 'Don't get at me for saying this but Steph, your boyfriend wants to be famous, you're the famous one but he wants to be famous.'

'Alright he's a model but you're the famous one with a talent,' the Essex-born star added. 'But you've been so blinded by the love [that you couldn't see it].'

She then encouraged Stephanie to 'f**k the relationship off'.

Danniella, 42, echoed Gemma's words and told her to forget about the situation, chiming in: ' Just spend the next nine days being Steph.'

'I know, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders,' Stephanie responded to the girls who were grateful she was now able to confide in them and ask them for support.

MailOnline has contacted Sam Reece's management for comment.

Meanwhile, Stephanie and her in-house love interest Jeremy McConnell were seemingly planning their future on the latest episode.

Putting a proposal to her, the Irish lad said: 'So if things worked out when we get out, I'll book us a holiday. Somewhere nice.'

Earlier on, Jeremy, 25, hinted to Scotty T that he's found the one in Stephanie as he gushed: 'I love that girl to bits, I swear down.'
