The latest installment of the hit show recently earned Lady Gaga a Golden Globe.

So it's no surprise that fans of American Horror Story have been dying to learn details about the plot for the next season. 

Several different media reports and even creator Ryan Murphy himself have given conflicting statements as to what chilling scenarios the mysterious show will explore in the upcoming sixth season.

According to Us Weekly on Wednesday, one of the more interesting theories stated that the next season would focus on a terrifying supernatural character known as The Slender Man.

The outlandishly tall, faceless creature has various terrifying traits including tentacles used for hunting prey and the ability to disrupt electronics and teleport. 

Originally started as an internet meme in 2009, The Slender Man has spawned many works of fiction and even several YouTube movies.

The publication claimed that a deal is in the works to buy a script about the internet phenomenon before developing the series from it.

While a series based around such a scary figure would no doubt add to the creepiness factor of the show, E! News then issued a conflicting report on Thursday that the show would in fact not feature the terrifying tall man.

However, the outlet opted to not reveal the source of the supposed information, only saying it was able to confirm The Slender Man was out.

He revealed to E! News that he may have partied a bit too hard after Lady Gaga's win at the awards show.

'Tonight I started to tell all the actors who they were going to play for next season because I had too much to drink,' he later admitted. 

The issue of Lady Gaga's return is also a mystery, as it's been reported by E! that while an offer has been tendered, she has yet to respond.
