Both BP and Shell are expected to see their full-year profits for 2015 slashed by about 40 per cent leading to fears that they will struggle to maintain their dividend payouts to shareholders. BP is predicted to report profit for the year of $6.8billion (£4.8billion) down from $12.1billion previously, while Shell is set to report profit down to $10.7billion (£7.5billion) from $19billion.

'I make decent money and it's never dull': How to earn cash by being a TV or film extra - and even your home can be a star
Hollywood's A-listers are currently competing for the film industry's top awards - earning millions of pounds a year plying their trade. But even the unsung heroes of movies - the extras - can make a living from appearing on the silver screen. Aspiring actress Evie Wray, from Epsom Downs, Surrey, has been earning money as a movie extra since she was aged just 13.
Real or not real: Is this answer machine message a genuine one from HSBC bank or a phishing scam to get hold of bank account details?
This is Money has documented various cases of readers who have been duped by criminals pretending to telephone from their bank and using an array of tactics to make the call seem genuine. Listen to this answering machine message left on a Thisismoney journalist's phone, and see if you can guess - and then vote - whether it is a genuine call from HSBC or a scam.
'Maggie will be turning in her grave over what Osborne is doing to small firms': Neil Westwood's broadside over dividend tax
Westwood, whose company Magic Whiteboard shot to fame on Dragons' Den, is furious about some of the Chancellor's tax plans, which he believes will harm entrepreneurs like himself. He is particularly dismayed by a move announced by Osborne in his Autumn Statement which in effect slaps an extra 7.5 per cent tax on company dividends. These payouts are the rewards for shareholders and they are the way many small company owners pay themselves. They believe it is recompense for the risk of starting up a business.
He's exposed rip-off fares by flying from Sheffield to Essex - via Berlin! - for less than the cost of a train ticket: Meet the 6ft 5in teenage brainbox who can save you a fortune
Jordon Cox is 6ft 5in, stick thin, with size 15 feet and a granite-strong handshake. Over the past few days, his life - always a bit unusual - has become increasingly bizarre. 'Mental crazy' is how he describes it. The 18-year-old from Essex has been invited to be interviewed for TV programmes all over the world in his very sensible specs and terrible haircut. His name even cropped up on BBC1's Question Time on Thursday night. 'They were debating me! It was crazy. Everyone was clapping,' he says, all pink and pleased. The reason? He'd posted a blog on a savings advice website in which he explained how he had made a journey from Sheffield (where he'd been advising members of a local WI group how to save money on their supermarket bill) to his home town, Shenfield in Essex. Rather than go direct, he took a 1,017-mile detour via Berlin. It meant a day's more travel - but it cost him £7.72 less than the train equivalent.
What made you fall in love with your home? The top reasons for buying given by homeowners revealed
More than half of buyers buy a property because they fall in love with it and the top three reasons for this are location, price and the garden, according to new research. Fifty-eight per cent fell in love with their home due to its location, followed by 37 per cent due to its price. This was followed by those who chose their property due to its garden.
SIMON LAMBERT: Is tax-free pension saving a principle to defend or a perk to hack into?
If the widely expected cut to pension tax relief for higher rate taxpayers goes ahead, a near 100-year-old cornerstone of saving will be swept away instantly. If he wants to build our trust in the system, and to avoid the kind of pension-stealing accusations that Gordon Brown still suffers from, George Osborne would be wise to leave the principle intact.
Can you get a leg-up onto the property ladder? From boosting deposits to a savings bonus, your guide to Help to Buy
Rising house prices and tougher mortgage application rules can make it seem nigh on impossible for a first-time buyer to get on the property ladder. But a number of deposit-boosting government-backed schemes under the Help to Buy banner could help make your home ownership dream a reality. We explain.

Tesco calls time on 24-hour shopping at 76 large stores as customers turn away from nightowl grocery trips
Tesco, which began operating 24-hour stores two decades ago, said 76 out of the 400 stores currently open around the clock would be affected by the change. They will now close at midnight and reopen again at 6am. Instead of shopping at night, it is believed customers are now heading online for their groceries.
