Her last relationship ended over the summer.

But Britney Spears had a strong message for men about matters of the heart on Friday.

The 34-year-old shared an Instagram post that read, 'Dear men, If a woman is responsible for your smile, please be responsible with her heart.'

The I'm A Slave 4 U singer let the image speak for itself, as it contained no accompanying caption.

It's of course uncertain who or what exactly inspired Britney to post the snap.

The hit-maker was last in a relationship with Charlie Ebersol, however their eight month romance came to an end in June.

In September, Charlie was linked to Olympic ski champion Lindsay Vonn but a rep for Lindsey told Mail Online: 'I can tell you with 100 per cent certainty that they are just friends.'

Shortly before the report, Britney explained to audience members at her Piece Of Me show in Las Vegas what a positive experience being single has been so far.

'Being single for a year has been very, very, very profound. And I feel like all men should suck my toe!' she told a cheering audience in August.

Britney is currently enjoying a month-and-half break from her Las Vegas residency Piece Of Me, and has been busy at the dance studio revamping her Pieces Of Me show as of late.

The hit-maker recently shared a glimpse of the new dances she's incorporating into her act.

'It's so hot in here... #PieceOfMe,' Britney wrote alongside one clip.

'Just put your lips together and blow... #PieceOfMe,' she captioned another video of herself doing some sexy moves.

In September, Britney announced during one of the concerts that she has extended her Planet Hollywood residency for an additional two years.

The musician has also been recording some new music, teasing fans via Twitter that she had been spending long days in the studio.

While fans may be holding out for a ninth studio album, it's been insinuated that she is instead working on an EP.
