San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker could miss the Olympics because of the expected birth of his second son.

Parker told French radio station RMC that his wife is due at the end of July, shortly after France's Olympic qualifying tournament from July 4-10. 

The Olympic basketball tournament in Rio de Janeiro will be held from August 6-21.

Parker says he has yet to decide whether his wife's pregnancy will force him to cancel his commitments with the national team.

Parker said: 'This is big news. I will need to talk with the France team. And negotiate with my wife, too. The schedule is very, very difficult.'

French federation president Jean-Pierre Siutat and technical director Patrick Beesley both say they were unaware of Parker's situation.

Parker, who used to be married to actress Eva Longoria, announced on Twitter Monday afternoon that his wife, Axelle Francine, is pregnant.

The basketball star wrote: 'My wonderful wife and I are happy to announce that our son Josh is going to have a little brother!'

The Belgian-born athlete tagged his message: '#familly #theparkers #happy'.

The happy couple's son, Josh, will turn two in April.

At the time, it was claimed that Parker was having an affair with Erin Barry, the wife of his former teammate Brent Barry. They are also now divorced.  

Eva, 40, is currently engaged to businessman Jose Antonio Baston, the president of Televisa, the largest media company in Latin America. 

Parker tied the knot with Francine in 2014 after signing a three-year, $43.3million contract extension with the Spurs.
