'We've got about 400 more miles': Chris Martin hitches a ride to the Super Bowl with James Corden in Carpool Karaoke

Chris Martin joins comedian James Corden on the next installment of viral favourite Carpool Karaoke.

In the segment which will air on Tuesday's The Late Late Show, the Coldplay frontman hitches a ride from Los Angeles to the Bay area where his band will be performing at the Super Bowl this weekend.

In a sneak peek obtained by EW, the singer stands by the road holding a cardboard sign scrawled with the words 'Super Bowl San Francisco'.

And it looks like quite the adventure as Corden rubs his tired eyes during the long journey and asks 'Have you any idea how much further it is to go?'

Coldplay will be performing during the coveted halftime spot on Sunday and there are rumours Bruno Mars will be jumping on stage to join the group.

It will be second time round for Bruno who headlined at the 2014 game. 

Martin also teased that Beyonce - who performed at the big game in 2013 - may be making an appearance as he spoke with CBS on Sunday. 

During the interview, the ex-husband of Gwyneth Paltrow revealed that his daughter Apple, 11, had some wise words to help calm his nerves ahead of his big gig.

'My daughter said the sweetest thing yesterday. "How you feeling about the Super Bowl?" Of course, we're a little bit nervous.' Martin said. 

'She said, "Dad, the worst that could happen is you'll get turned into a meme. And after a month or so people will just forget!"'

Denver Broncos take on the Carolina Panthers at Super Bowl 50 which will be taking place at Santa Clara's Levi's Stadium just south of San Francisco. 

The Big Game will air on February 7 at 6:30pm on CBS.
