Cleveland Browns team officials have issued a blistering attack on disgraced quarterback Johnny Manziel saying he will be dropped as soon as possible.

The 23-year-old has been linked to a tumult of criminal offenses and drunken shenanigans in recent weeks.

Cleveland Browns fans are tired of Manziel's shenanigans, and it is beginning to sound like the patience of team officials is wearing thin - as they vowed on Tuesday to drop him when the league starts again on March 9.

On Saturday, he was questioned by cops over an incident with his ex-girlfriend at 2am in Fort Worth, Texas.

'We've been clear about expectations for our players on and off the field,' new executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown said on Tuesday.

'Johnny's continual involvement in incidents that run counter to those expectations undermines the hard work of his teammates and the reputation of our organization. His status with our team will be addressed when permitted by league rules.'

'We will have no further comment at this time,' Brown added.

It comes just days after police responded to a call from a 23-year-old female - believed to be Manziel's ex Colleen Crowley - who told police she was concerned for Manziel's welfare after he had 'run off' following their bust-up.

Fort Worth Police then dispatched an Air One Unit search party, called various cell numbers associated with him and checked possible locations on the ground.

It was later determined by officers that the ex-boyfriend was safe and in no danger.

Multiple police forces are working together to determine whether any criminal offenses occurred.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told ESPN that the league was aware and was 'looking into it'.

Earlier on Tuesday, new coach Hue Jackson weighed in on the 23-year-old quarterback's latest brush with the law.

'My general reaction would be disappointment,' Jackson told the 'Hey Tony' show on ESPN Cleveland 850. 'As I've said many times, I would like for the Cleveland Browns' players to conduct themselves in a manner that represents the organization well.

'Obviously, that reflected differently on what we want to have happen. Obviously, it's a process that we're going through, and we'll continue to go through it.'

When he was hired, Jackson said each member of the team would be re-evaluated and decisions would be made based on evaluations as players.

Jackson said he has begun that evaluation process but he was not ready to make a decision on Manziel.

Fort Worth police said in a statement Saturday that officers were called to an apartment building around 2 a.m. about a possible assault. Police said Manziel was not arrested.

'The preliminary investigation determined that a possible assault had occurred in that jurisdiction or multiple jurisdictions,' the police statement said.

'The complainant was uncooperative with officers on scene, and they were unable to locate a crime scene within the Fort Worth jurisdiction.

'However, our officers prepared a report nonetheless, and that information was forwarded to detectives for further investigation.'

The police report stated that the woman was concerned about the well-being of Manziel. They then launched an effort to locate him that involved the police's helicopter unit but olice later determined that Manziel was safe and not in danger.

Cleveland fans seem to be tired of Manziel.

In response to the latest incident, one Cleveland fan started a 'Johnny Free February' movement on Twitter.

As of Monday, more than 1,000 fans had signed up to participate in the campaign 'not to tweet, retweet or mention Johnnie Manziel on Twitter in February or until he is no longer a Cleveland Brown'.

The Fort Worth Police Department is now working with Dallas PD to determine whether a possible assault had occurred.

TMZ reported five days ago about a potential split between the pair after they both deleted pictures of each other on Instagram.

This is not the first time cops were called out to a fight between Manziel and now ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley.

Back in October, police in Ohio responded to a report of the couple fighting in a car and the quarterback admitted to drinking earlier that day but no charges were made.

This was despite Crowley telling police that the football player had slammed her head into the car window.

The news comes just under a month after Manziel, 23, was ruled out of the a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, after reportedly partying 'incognito' at a Las Vegas club on January 2.

He apparently wore a blond wig, fake mustache and sunglasses to the party and as per the NFL's post-concussion protocol, was banned from the game the next day.

Employees and a customer at Planet Hollywood reported seeing Manziel eating and playing blackjack at the casino on the Saturday night back in early January.

Then, ESPN Las Vegas added to the story, saying the quarterback wore a disguise and said his name was Billy while out in Sin City. There is also reportedly video of Manziel in his disguise.

News of his disguise prompted Twitter users to post a series of memes online showing mock-up images of Manziel wearing different wigs and sunglasses.

Last year Manziel was ruled out of the season finale with a hamstring injury and missed a treatment session when he reportedly overslept after throwing a party at his house the night before.

Manziel, who reportedly wants to go to the Dallas Cowboys, has repeatedly made headlines for his partying ways in the last year.

In late December of last year a video surfaced of what appeared to show him partying over the Christmas break.

The clip, which was picked up by BustedCoverage.com, shows Manziel holding what appears to be a Black Cherry Four Loko as he sings along to a Future song.

Pettine said he planned to talk to Manziel following the video's release, the now-former coach told ESPN at the time.

'Any time there's something with our players that casts them potentially in a bad light, whether it's Johnny or any of our other guys, it's certainly a concern,' he said.

'I'm sure I'll see it and have a discussion with him about it.'

In November, a similar video surfaced of Manziel partying in a club in Austin, Texas, during the Browns' bye week.

Manziel was seen at the Summit Rooftop Lounge singing along to a Future song with what appeared to be a silver bottle of Dom Perignon in his hand in a video posted by DJ LX on Friday.

'Sippin on Dom Perignon for no reason with #johnnymanziel,' read the Instagram caption for the video, which has since been deleted but was published on Busted Coverage

Manziel lost the starting quarterback job and was demoted from starter to third string when that video appeared and when he lied to the coaches about when it was filmed.

The NFL player, who completed 10 weeks in rehab during the NFL off-season last February, said that his team didn't need to worry about his behavior during the bye week.

Earlier in November Manziel was spotted partying at his alma mater Texas A&M university.
