Ant and Dec hint 10th series of Britain's Got Talent could be their LAST ever... as 10 year ITV contract is set to expire

Their hosting prowess was cemented with their 15th consecutive win at the National Television Awards last month.

And while their win sparked claims that they should step down after so many years, it seems naysayers may get what they want after dynamic presenting duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, best known as Ant & Dec, hinted that this year could be their last on ITV.

As the year marks the end of their current contract with the network, the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! front-men admitted they were uncertain of their future.

Asked if they would return for Britain's Got Talent in 2017, they replied: 'We're not sure, because it's the last year we're contracted for. We'll have to see. It's been 10 great years. Well, nine great years - we're hoping the 10th will be just as good as the rest!' they told The Daily Mirror.

'There's no reason why we should leave, but let's do this series first and make it a good'un.'

The two famously signed a contract worth £5 million apiece with ITV almost a decade ago, and while the contract expires later this year, the twosome - who both celebrated their 40th birthdays late last year - have teased that they still have some exciting surprises in store this year.

It's heavily speculated that if the Saturday Night Take Away hosts decide against renewing their contract with ITV, they could potentially make a move to an online streaming service, where payment is greater.

Speaking about the possibility of jumping ships later down the line, Dec previously confessed: 'The big difference is the amount of money your Netflixes and your Amazon Primes have to spend.'

But while the pairing could potentially move online, an ITV spokesman told The Mirror: 'We have a fantastic, long-standing relationship with Ant and Dec and we are looking forward to that continuing well into the future.'

After accepting yet another NTA award at this year's ceremony, the duo played down reports that they are thinking about leaving ITV.

'It has been mentioned before that maybe we should step down but it’s not up to us, we shouldn’t be big-headed enough to say we’ll give someone else a chance,' Dec began.

'We make no apologies, we’re still in the business that we’re in, we’ve won 15 years on the trot, we find that remarkable and we’re very thankful for it.

‘The day we try and say no to that is the day we should stop,' Ant added.
