Jennifer Ellison looks effortlessly stylish in a smart coat and black smock dress after opening up about weight loss struggle

She candidly confessed she's struggled to control her weight due to her former sugar addiction.

But Jennifer Ellison was looking fabulous as ever as she stopped off at the ITV studios in London on Tuesday to chat about her battle with the scales, opting for a simple all-black outfit.

The 32-year-old actress sported an understated yet chic smock dress, paired with a smart, blazer-style jacket to chat with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning.

Jennifer set off the look with opaque tights and a pair of high ankle boots, carrying a Mulberry handbag over one arm.

The star pulled her blonde hair back in a high ponytail, enhancing her cheekbones with a coral coloured blush.

The former Brookside beauty was toting a smart, monogrammed Louis Vuitton suitcase as she made a speedy exit following her TV appearance.

Jennifer was forced to face her former addiction to fizzy drinks head on after This Morning arranged for 3,000 cans of cola to be dropped off at the studio during an appearance by the actress.

Presenting duo Holly and Phil calculated just how much Ellison would have consumed in a year based on the fact that she used to drink six to seven cans a day; the equivalent of a whopping 79 kilos of sugar a year.

When faced with the small mountain of cans, which arrived via a lorry and on pallets, the mum-of-three told This Morning she was 'so embarrassed'.

Ellison says she has now managed to kick her cola habit after appearing on ITV show Sugar Free Farm, which challenges a host of celebrity guests to ditch sugar-laden snacks and foods for two weeks.

The actress said she was '100 per cent sugar-addicted' and explained that drinking the popular refreshment was 'force of habit.'

She said: 'With three little boys, I'd get up in the morning, low on energy and have a can of Coke and it'd go on from there throughout the day. I'm surprised I've got teeth!'

The fortnight-long detox saw her lose 7lbs and she's since shed one-and-a-half stone more after ditching sugar for good.

Her TV appearance comes after Jennifer admitted she let herself go after first becoming a mum five years ago.

The actress candidly spoke to OK! magazine about her well documented struggle with weight as she posed with her husband Rob and their sons Bobby, five, Harry, two-and-a-half, and 16-month-old Charlie.

Jennifer looked sensational in the shot, which saw her don a loose-fitting magenta jumper with bat-wing sleeves and black trousers.

She styled her trademark blonde locks into an elegant quiff while she scraped the rest of her lustrous tresses into a tight ponytail with bouncy curls styled into the end.

Rob looked handsome in a white shirt and jeans while the boys looked smart in jeans and an array of multi-coloured tops.

In her chat with the publication, Jennifer admitted that since giving birth to Bobby, she let her once slender frame go - preferring to focus on her brood more than her body.

She said: ‘I haven’t looked after myself at all since becoming a mum and I know I’ve let myself go.’

The former Brookside star revealed she suffered a risky addiction to sugary Coke: 'Before the show I would easily drink six to eight cans a day, it never occurred to me just how bad it was. I was addicted without realising it.’

And while she has been consumed with life as a mother, Jennifer joined Sugar Free Farm, a show in which a host of celebrities stay in an enclosure where they are not permitted to eat any sugar.

Evidently overjoyed with the results of her stay, Jennifer said: ‘I weighed 14 stone when we started filming and since leaving the farm I’m down to 12½ stone.

'I’d like to be a size 10 again, but I’m planning to do it gradually. I’m not putting any pressure on myself, though.

'My body has given me three gorgeous, healthy boys – I’m proud of it.’
