A mother is standing trial following the death of her young daughter was accused of choosing to cover up for her dead boyfriend instead of protecting her child, a jury today/yesterday (Tues) heard.
Kirsty Lee is on trial accused causing or allowing the death of a child and causing or allowing serious physical harm to a child.
After being taken to hospital in a \"floppy and unresponsive\" state, doctors discovered Lee\'s 23-month-old daughter Cara Lee-Fanus had been subjected to a violent head injury and had 21 other injuries on her body.
Among them were three burn marks inflicted after the nozzle of a hair-dryer was pressed against her skin.
Following the head injury on May 28 2014, Cara was rushed to St Peter\'s Hospital in Chertsey, Surrey.

A pet dog called Storm which was missing for four days has been found alive at sea by lifeboat crews a MILE offshore after he disappeared chasing a vandal and a seagull.
The incredible story of the German Shepherd's survival has emerged just three days after an appeal was posted online by worried owner Helen Sygrave.
The black and tan dog, aged seven years, first bolted from the family home on Priory Road in Hastings, East Sussex, on January 31 after a vandal kicked a hole in the fence at the family home.
He was found this/yesterday (Thurs) morning a mile offshore after last being spotted chasing a seagull at the harbourside.
