But now it looks as if Nick Jonas has already found a new lady to spark with - 26-year-old Lily Collins.

According to UsWeekly, the 23-year-old singer is romancing the Mirror, Mirror actress and has already been on several dates with her. 'Nick really likes Lily,' said the insider.

Flashback: In 2009 they were photographed together at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in LA when the Jonas Brothers were still intact; also in the photo is Lil' JJ

On January 20 they were spotted flirting at Bowlero - an upscale bowling alley - in LA's Mar Vista neighborhood.

'They spent the night laughing together,' said a source.

The next week the two headed out on a ski trip to Mammoth, California, which is a five hour drive north of Los Angeles. A friend said they went skiing together. That is the same town he took Hudson to in early January. The hit maker reportedly owns a home in the area.

But they are still on 'casual' terms.

The two may be adjusting to going from friends to more. After all, they have known each other since at least 2009 when they worked together at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in LA. 

'Nick's single and having fun,' said the source. 'Right now it's not exclusive.' 

This comes just days after Nick talked about Hudson in a new interview with Complex Magazine. The star heaped praise on to his decade-older actress, calling her 'amazing'. 

When asked straight out by Complex if he was having sex with the Almost Famous actress, the singer was coy about details but not about his emotions.

Nick said: 'Kate's incredible. We had an unbelievable connection as two humans who just admire things about each other, and see something in each other that's beautiful. 

'Out of my best effort to respect her and her privacy, I'm not going to say if we had sex or not. 

'But we did have a beautiful connection. Even now I have so much admiration and respect. She's amazing.'

Nick said he understood the world's fascination with him and the movie star.

'[The question] doesn't shock me or surprise me. I don't get pissed off about it. I've come to accept it. With that in particular. It's a bizarre matchup to a lot of people.'

But despite his lovely words, the Jealous star spoke in the past tense and told the magazine he is now very single - which is something he is still getting used to.

'It was first excitement to have freedom to be whoever I wanted to be, be my own person. Then the feeling of being disheartened by what's out there. Then getting into crazy artist mode and throwing it all out, the good, bad, and ugly.

'I've met some people that are amazing. And my current situation is that I'm very much single, but I'm trying to be as open to people who can inspire me in some way.'

The former Disney star candidly admits to using social media to pick up girls - namely using Instagram's DM [direct message] feature.

'[I] slide right in there sometimes. And then you'll text the person and finally meet the person. It's like online dating. Even that freaks me the f**k out. I'm like, should it be a group? Just the person? It's scary.'

While he may be single, the Kingdom actor admits to having a few famous crushes - one of which is a little controversial.

A Game Of Thrones fan, Nick said he crushes on Emilia Clarke but, and here is where the controversy lays, he also likes Amy Schumer and, 'I know they are besties, so I can't really say this, but Jennifer Lawrence, too'.

Nick is back on the market after dating Miss USA Olivia Culpo for two years.

He said the difficult break up serves an inspiration for many of his new songs - including track Chainsaw - which he recorded at his home in Mammoth.

'Naturally I'm going to pull a lot from that,' he said. 'Not even so much about that relationship in particular, but about my state of mind, who I want to be. I'm meeting new people, and what that has been like. Also, just as a general change in my life. This year has been kind of nuts.'

While Nick is fast shaping up as the next big Hollywood ladies' man, the star also has a large gay following and, perhaps purposely so, avoids saying definitively if he has been with man.

When asked, the star replied: 'It's funny. I play a gay character on a TV show. Whether it's me or the character, at the end of the day it's still my body, it's still telling the story. It's the character and his journey, but it's my body, my lips, my hands.'

Nick - who plays an in the closet boxer in Kingdom - has been accused of exploiting the gay community for his own musical success.

'There's always going to be negativity toward anything that is a positive effort toward change. As a heterosexual male, [I am] open and comfortable about loving my fan base, gay or straight, because to me there is no difference, it is my fan base. 

'Your sexual preference does not matter to me and it shouldn't matter to anybody. I thought [the criticism] was kind of dumb, considering I play this gay character on a gritty show. There's a gay sex scene. I kissed a man.

'The goal is acceptance on all levels - that should be the focus. I've gone to normal clubs, straight clubs, and I've gone to gay clubs, to party with my friends and fans. There's no difference. I have nothing to prove. 

'I'm very comfortable in my own skin and I'm thankful to have as many close gay friends as I have, people who have been so supportive in my life, and have always been there for me.'
