GIRL ABOUT TOWN: Love takes off for Superman and his British student, 19, after he takes her home to meet the family

When British Superman actor Henry Cavill hitched up with teenage student Tara King, many eyebrows were raised over the 13-year age gap and whispers were soon spreading about how long the romance could possibly last.

But I can reveal that not only are Henry, 32, and 19-year-old Tara still together, they are positively thriving, after three holidays together.

Their most recent break, to New Zealand, was during Tara’s reading week at university.

It may well have been seen as unusual behaviour for a first-year student because, while most fellow undergraduates were knuckling down with their books, I gather Tara was excitedly sharing snaps of her journey to Wellington on social media app Snapchat.

The pair are clearly serious, and I hear that Henry – star of Man Of Steel and upcoming blockbuster Batman v Superman – has taken his girlfriend to meet his family in Jersey.

While they were there, Henry posted a bizarre snap of Tara playfully squidging his man-of-steel cheeks.

‘A lot of people wondered if the relationship would last, but this shows it’s serious, despite the age difference,’ a friend of the actor tells me.

The New Zealand adventure came two weeks after Tara joined Henry in Jersey, where he was born. Two months before that, Henry took Tara to China.

The Mail on Sunday revealed in October that they were an item after they were seen together at a rugby match at Twickenham.
