Brain damage! Krang and his Technodrome wreak havoc in New York as he debuts in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Super Bowl spot
He is the giant brain who both terrified and amused a whole generation of schoolchildren.
And Krang made his long-awaited appearance in the cinematic reboot after beaming his Technodrome into Earth in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Super Bowl trailer on Sunday.
He sends Transformers-esque machines from his flying base to wreak havoc in New York before the half-shelled heroes confront him in the the action-packed short.

Fox in a hole: Megan's character April O'Neil looks worried as she gazes into the sky
This is of course only appropriate, as Michael Bay is the brains behind the new take on the hit 1980s comic and cartoon franchise.
The moviemaker's favourite muse Megan Fox, who plays April O'Neil, breathlessly says, 'What is that?' then gazes into the sky as the gigantic metallic ball structure is revealed.
Of course the city's protectors Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo step in to try and stop the carnage, though it seems initial success is just a way to make them drop their guard.

The red brain then makes its first appearance, causing the half-shelled ninjas to squeal with fright.
Krang then attacks the heroes, sending them flying with a by extending his suit's arms and spinning like a wheel.
Another hilarious previously unseen moment comes when the fantastic four are attempting to skydive onto the top of a flying jet.

Not so intimidating: The original cartoon Krang was an equally nefarious but more comical villain
One of them asks, 'where's Raph,' before he is seen spinning in midair before slamming into the cockpit.
It was only revealed in a Michael Bay Rolling Stone feature last month fan favourite Krang would be making an appearance in the new film.
Upon being shown a prototype in which he is shorn of his trademark jelly limbs, Bay said: 'He could have some tentacles, I just don't want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus.'

At least it has no wipers: He ends up spinning through the air until he hits the aircraft's cockpit

Two other old favourites who appear in the show are Rocksteady and Bebop, who were key characters in the 80s cartoon that turned the cult comic into a worldwide pop culture phenomenon.
After an experiment by scientist Baxter Stockman, played by Tyler Perry, the pair are mutated into a humanoid rhinoceros and warthog respectively before confronting the heroes. Series stalwart villain The Shredder, played by Brian Tee, also appears.
The highly-anticipated action flick also stars Will Arnett, Johnny Knoxville, Alessandra Ambrosio, Tony Shalhoub and Jeremy Howard.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is scheduled to appear in cinemas worldwide on June 3 2016.
