All in a day's work! Zooey Deschanel covers up with stylish scarf and shades as she films scene for New Girl at an LA park

Zooey Deschanel took time away for maternity leave after giving birth to her daughter Elsie Otter in July of last year.

The 36-year-old New Girl star appeared to be right back in working girl mode as she shot a scene for the hit Fox show at a Los Angeles park on Monday.

Zooey was stylishly incognito in a filmy white scarf and light-framed shades with a reddish tint to match her dark auburn locks.

Despite the guise of accessories, Zooey wasn't hard to miss thanks to the members of the film crew who spent several minutes prepping for the scene.

Zooey was the picture of patience, standing with her arms casually folded while clad in a figure-flattering frock with three-quarter length sleeves and thigh-skimming hemline.

The actress added opaque black stockings and practical, pointy black flats.

Her make-up was refreshed with rouge and a hint of lipstick, which would look oh-so-natural on film.

One had to wonder, however, at that bright prop on a nearby table that looked like a Russian nesting doll.

New Girl kicked off its fifth season on January 5 with Zooey making some pre-taped appearances while she took off for maternity leave.

The show's storyline covered up Zooey's absence in the first few episodes nicely - by pointing out that her character Jess is away for a month on jury duty.

Megan Fox was brought in to generate interest in the interim, playing the ex-girlfriend of Cece (Hannah Simone) with her first episode set to air on February 9.

Zooey and her husband, producer Jacob Pechenik, 42, wed in June of last year, one month before the birth of their daughter Elsie Otter.

The 500 Days Of Summer star was previously married to Ben Gibbard, lead singer for Death Cab For Cutie and The Postal Service, from 2009 until 2011.
