This is of course only appropriate, as Michael Bay is the brains behind the new take on the hit 1980s comic and cartoon franchise.

The moviemaker's favourite muse  Megan Fox, who plays April O'Neil, breathlessly says, 'What is that?' then gazes into the sky as the gigantic metallic ball structure is revealed.

Of course the city's protectors Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo step in to try and stop the carnage, though it seems initial success is just a way to make them drop their guard.

Michelangelo bangs on the glass stomach of Krang's andriod body's stomach after saying, 'that didn't seem so tough.'

It was only revealed in a Michael Bay Rolling Stone feature last month fan favourite Krang would be making an appearance in the new film.
