Lady Gaga tears up as she sparkles in red suit while kicking off Super Bowl 50 with emotional National Anthem performance

She recently won a Golden Globe for her merits on the small screen.

And as Lady Gaga had another milestone first, it was no wonder she got a bit emotional.

The 29-year-old singer could be seen tearing up as she kicked off Super Bowl 50 inside Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California with a passionate performance on Sunday.

Lady Gaga set the field ablaze with not only her Star Spangled banner but also with that glittery cherry red pantsuit with matching Americana platforms.

The siren rocked a custom made Gucci suit and shoes and looked as a patriotic as apple pie at the Superbowl.

The Bad Romance hitmaker performed an inspiring rendition of the US National Anthem just before the Denver Broncos took on the Carolina Panthers. 

Gaga managed to draw plenty of attention to herself without flashing too much flesh as she rocked  a sparkling bright red two-piece suit.

Her dazzling trousers had a bit of flare as they featured bell-bottoms as she completed the look with a one of her high-platform heels in black with sparkles and the other in stripes like the American flag.

The talented actress and singer had her platinum blonde locks combed back and dishevelled along with dangling diamond earrings.

As if she was not gleaming enough, she had shimmering bright red eyeshadow on which highlighted her natural, complimentary make-up. 

Not only did the singer look great but she sounded great too as she used her powerful voice in a stripped down, piano-backed version of the iconic song.

In the middle of the performance, a single tear could be seen rolling down her face but as Gaga is the consummate pro, she managed to effortlessly wipe it away while singing.

Definitely thankful for the opportunity, the Born This Way hitmaker expressed her gratitude to the thousands in attendance by putting her hand over her heart and giving a wave to the crowd.

She was definitely excited about the high profile gig as hours before the event the Grammy winner shared a hello to her fans eager to see the diva perform her version of the American favorite.

In an Instagram post the Poker Face hit maker posed makeup free with her two dogs in messy bed with white sheets.

On her head was a Super Bowl 50 cap with sequins.

The caption for her snap read: 'I CANT WAIT TO SING FOR YOU ALL, get your dogs and chicken wings marinating it's almost game time!!'

Later on Sunday she was seen all glammed up while getting a ride in a golf cart.

This week she told NFL.com: 'I’ve always wanted to sing the National Anthem at a major sporting event since I was a little girl, and for it to be the ultimate…' Gaga trailed off, adding that she watched and rewatched singers performing the song as a little girl.

On Tuesday, Lady Gaga was also confirmed as a performer at this year's Grammy Awards the following weekend.

E! reported that the Mother Monster will deliver an 'Experiential' tribute to the late David Bowie who will also be receiving a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award.

'We had already booked Lady Gaga on this year's show, but when David passed - almost in a single moment - we knew we had to change direction,' said Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich

'We immediately spoke and agreed that she should be the one to honor David. She's perfect for it.'
