Lady Gaga shows her tattoo collection in backless dress at Oscars luncheon after covering up with make-up for the Globes

She's turned her body into her own personal artwork.

And Lady Gaga put her intricate tattoo collection on display in a backless dress as she attended the Oscar luncheon on Monday.

Having covered up her inkings with thick camouflage make-up for the Golden Globes, on this occasion the singer decided to put them on show.

But a cut out at the back showed the 29-year-old's extensive tattoo collection, with a large claw in tribute to her fans, who she affectionately calls Little Monsters.

A floral inking sits alongside the claw, while a heart with the word dad can be seen peeking from under the sleeve on on her left shoulder.

Gaga also has tattoos on both her upper arms.

The singer was overcome with emotion at the luncheon when Oscars producer David Hill praised her performance of the national anthem at Sunday's Super Bowl, reports E! News.

Hill, who has produced past Super Bowls, raved that Gaga's version of The Star-Spangled Banner was 'the best rendition I have ever heard, and, trust me, I've heard a lot.'

The singer appeared overwhelmed at the praise, covering her face as tears rolled down her cheeks.

Ooze ladylike chic in Lady Gaga's high neck gown by Christian Siriano

It looks as though Lady Gaga’s days of whacky dressing are well and truly over.

The flaxen-haired hitmaker stunned at the Oscars luncheon in a flattering figure-hugging gown which was custom made for her by fashion designer Christian Siriano.

We love how Gaga oozes feminine elegance as she puts the finishing touches on the high neck satin floor-length gown with a fresh, natural make-up look and a half up hairstyle. Beyond perfection.

This peachy pink hue makes for the perfect gown color choice for Spring/Summer, and we’re loving it against Lady Gaga’s fair skin and peroxide locks which gives off a real high fashion feel.

The sad news is that Lady Gaga’s gown is not available to buy online, but look no further than the edit below to emulate her look from the likes of Asos, Boohoo and Missguided.

The 29-year-old has been nominated for an Oscar in the best original song category for Til It Happens To You, a collaboration with Diane Warren that appeared in The Hunting Ground.

The in demand star attended the event a day after her winning performance of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in San Jose.

Gaga has a packed schedule this awards season - she will make history this month as the only artist to perform at the Oscars, Grammys & Super Bowl in One Year.

The Grammys next week will see her pay tribute to the late David Bowie, with critics expecting her to perform three or four of his songs.
