It seems that the days of Victoria Beckham wearing head-to-toe black are over.

The designer put a cheerfully colourful and stylish footstep forward as she stepped out in New York to head to work on Monday morning.

The 41-year-old former Spice Girl injected some much-needed vibrancy to the dull grey and cold backdrop of the Big Apple as she strutted into her office.

She covered her slim frame in a fashion forward spring/summer-ready orange roll-neck jumper, worn long over her hips and with the sleeves pulled down coquettishley over her hands.

Victoria added another chic element to the look, teaming the knit with an almost full-length flowing skirt in black and covered in a retro pencil print.

The lovely pleated garment cascaded around her slim frame, a wonderful combination with her figure-hugging top.

She's working around the clock to prepare for New York Fashion Week, but her limited time certainly doesn't mean she's been letting things slip in the sartorial stakes. If anything, Victoria Beckham looked more stylish than ever as she arrived at her office in New York City.

The fashion designer wears her own line more often than not and she didn't defer from the usual here, donning a zesty orange jumper from her pre-fall 2016 line.

The polo-neck sweater was layered beneath several dresses throughout the runway show, but Victoria chose to don hers over a fab, printed, pleated skirt.

Finishing the look off with an enviably effortless flourish, she donned a pair of chunky black boots with an oversized heel and a petite handbag slung over her shoulder.

Not a hair was out of place, her brunette locks coiffed to perfection in symmetrical, bouncy waves and - of course - she covered her face in a large pair of shades.

Victoria looked focused and ready for another day at the office just days before the hectic global fashion weeks begin.

According to a report in Look magazine, the mother-of-four is working tirelessly around the clock as she prepares for her own show during New York Fashion Week, which kicks off on Wednesday.

'Victoria is under so much pressure running her fashion empire. The amount of work she puts in is astronomical,' a source told the magazine.

If her Instagram account is anything to go by, Victoria is certainly putting in the hours; she's been sharing snaps in the studio constantly and jetting between London and America for work.

'Victoria's work schedule is absolutely insane. She regularly gets up at 4am, taking calls from Los Angeles, and scrapes by on just four hours' sleep,' the source added to the publication.

She will debut her autumn/winter 2016 collection on Sunday - Valentine's Day - in what will no doubt attract the biggest names in the industry: her collection is going from strength to strength and is repeatedly praised by the fashion elite.

Touching down in the city that never sleeps at the weekend, the former singer wrote on her Instagram: 'I ❤️ NY x I've missed you xx vb #VBAW16'.

Despite being a native of the UK, Victoria always presents her eponymous label at the US fashion presentation rather than at London Fashion Week.

The British capital's own event will follow in the second week, before Milan kicks off and then Paris steals the end of Fashion Month at the beginning of March.
