'Night at the museum!' Katie Holmes shares a photo to Instagram while viewing artwork with her daughter Suri

Katie Holmes rarely shares photos of her nine-year-old daughter Suri Cruise.

But on Sunday, the 37-year-old decided to post a picture with her daughter and her two friends to Instagram while the group enjoyed a visit to a museum.

The actress, who dressed casually for the outing, captioned it simply with: '#waterlilies #nightatthemuseum.' It looked like they were looking at Monet's famous painting which is housed in the Musée de l'Orangerie, in Paris.

The Kennedys star wore her brunette locks loose as she sat besides the children in front of a water lily themed painting.

Suri, who is the daughter of Katie and her ex husband Tom Cruise, sat to the far left, wearing a bumble bee themed dress in a light blue and red hue.

Her two friends wore similar patterned tops, opting for a pale pink and a yellow toned piece, pairing them with skirts. 

Katie previously shared a photo with her daughter two months ago, as the duo met Hillary and Chelsea Clinton.

The black and white photo shows the former Dawson's Creek actress looking loving down at Suri as Chelsea talks to her, captioning the snap: 'Mothers and daughters #wearewithhillary.'

Although the dark haired beauty usually only posts pictures of her daughter faced away from the camera, five months ago she shared a sweet close up picture of Suri wearing a Zac Posen designed hat.

Katie was most recently spotted out and about on Friday in New York City, dressed warmly in a puffy jacket and a thick scarf.

The movie star showed off her natural beauty by going makeup free and wearing her hair loose with a slight wave.

Last week, she attended a press conference in Beverly Hills for her film, Touched With Fire, wearing a spring themed wardrobe. 

The stunner donned a short sleeved blush top with classic black slacks, finishing off her ensemble with pointed crimson hued heels featuring a sparkling polka dot pattern. 

Katie and Tom wed in November 2006 and ended their marriage five years later in summer 2012.
