The world is watching him as the Oscars loom. 

Yet Leonardo DiCaprio appears to be taking the pressure in his stride as he enjoyed a low-key, al fresco lunch at Market Provisions in Beverley Hills on Sunday.

The 41-year-old Hollywood hunk appeared to be borrowing his look from the younger generation as he sported a backwards baseball cap with matching plimsolls.

Leonardo, who is tipped for the Best Actor gong for The Revenant at the prestigious ceremony, cut a trendy figure in an outfit which would not have looked out of place on a man half his age.

The handsome star wore a white T-shirt with beige chino shorts - adding a skater vibe to the youthful ensemble. 

A pair of cool, superstar-worthy sunglasses completed the look, as well as a heavy gold chain with a dangling pendant.

While Leonardo trod the sidewalk he appeared to grimace although he certainly livened up as he joined his pals. 

As he sat outside the farm-to-table style restaurant, he grew increasingly animated by throwing his hands in the air and seemingly exclaiming. 

The actor's hopes also ride high this year in the Oscars race. Leo has been nominated four times for the Best Actor award but has never got his hands on the famous statuette.

The Revenant is an odyssey of survival and revenge in which DiCaprio ate raw buffalo liver, climbed snowy mountains and bathed in icy rivers as he played the legendary trapper Hugh Glass. 

Leonardo's performance has been critically-acclaimed and widely-lauded leading to many calling for the handsome star to be feted with the coveted prize.

The film, directed by Alejandro Inarritu, is up for 12 Oscars.
