Adolf Hitler returns! Satirical film Look Who’s Back to make Netflix debut following German box office success
He’s got a date set with Netflix.
Adolf Hitler will come to life in David Wnendt’s satirical film Look Who’s Back on April 9 after Netflix took its worldwide rights (outside of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Japan and Taiwan), according to Variety.
It can best described as ‘Borat-style’ film where lead actor Oliver Masucci interacts as the Führer with normal people in documentary-style scenes after he wakes up in present-day multicultural Germany.

The deal was struck after the film found box office success in Germany last October, grossing about $22million.
The log line for the film is that it’s present day summer and Hitler suddenly wakes up on the site of his former bunker, now a residential area of Berlin, 70 years after his presumed demise.
The war is over, his party is no more, his beloved Eva is not there to console him and the present German society is so multicultural he does not recognize it.

But, against all the odds, Hitler begins a new career on television because he is universally mistaken for a brilliant comedian – even though he is indeed the genuine article and his intentions have not changed.
The film is based on Timur Vermes' bestselling 2012 novel which has been published in more than 40 countries and was number one on The New York Times bestseller list.
