It was already a very hot February day in Los Angeles.

But Eva Longoria sent temperatures soaring when she stepped out for lunch in the trendy Los Feliz area of the city.

The 40-year-old may have just been grabbing a quick bite, but she still dressed to impress in a pair of sexy skintight jeans with rips at the knees.

Eva also sported a pretty baby blue blouse in a lightweight fabric, which was perfect for the warm weather.

The actress gave her petite 5ft 2in frame a boost in a pair of nude peep toe heels, and had a cream handbag slung over one shoulder.

Eva's brunette locks appeared to be freshly blown out, and she wore large mirrored aviator sunglasses over her minimally made-up face.

The Desperate Housewives star clutched her mobile phone and flashed the dazzling ruby and diamond engagement ring given to her by Jose Antonio Baston in December.

This will be the third marriage for Eva, who filed for divorce from basketball star Tony Parker in 2010 following three years of marriage, and revealed she had found hundreds of text messages from another woman on his phone.

The star was previously married to General Hospital actor Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004.

As well as a wedding to plan, Eva is busy working on her latest project Telenovela.

The sitcom sees the actress play the neurotic star of a popular telenovela, and premiered in December on NBC.

The network ordered 11 episodes in October (having cut its order from 13) and the final episode in the season will air on February 22. It is not yet known if the show will be renewed for a second season.

Eva recently graced the cover of Entertainment Weekly with Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington and Elizabeth Banks, and spoke to the magazine about her love of social media.

'I remember starting on Twitter,' she said. 'I loved the immediate way I could correct things. At the time there were just so may lies. It was stupid stuff, like "Eva's pregnant, Eva's pregnant, Eva's pregnant."

'I'm like, "Guys, I ate a burger. I’m not pregnant"… because my mom would call!'
