Back to the day job! Lady Gaga sports low-key look as she heads to recording studio after taking a break from music to pursue an acting career

She picked up a Golden Globe last month for her breakout role in American Horror Story.

But, after proving herself in the acting world, Lady Gaga has decided to put the focus back on her music, as she showed by heading to a recording studio in Hollywood on Monday.

Staying until the early hours of the morning, the 29-year-old seemed in good spirits as she headed out of the building and into her waiting car.

Donning a grey striped co-ord with a matching turban, it seemed the star had decided to change into something a little less restrictive than the nude midi dress she had worn to the Oscars luncheon earlier that day.

Slipping her legs into the loose-fitting jersey trousers, the Born This Way hitmaker added some height in a pair of cobalt suede heels that complemented the blue hues in her pants.

Layering up against the chill she donned an oversized cream jumper, accessorising with a chunky gold necklace and a pair of blue wayfarer sunglasses.

Gaga - whose real name is Stefani Germanotta - was no doubt feeling inspired to write new material after mingling with Hollywood's elite at the Oscars luncheon.

Rubbing shoulders with the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, Gaga made the guestlist after being nominated for Best Original Song for Til It Happens To You from The Hunting Ground.

Not just recognised for her musical talents, the star also nabbed a Golden Globe for her role as The Countess Elizabeth in American Horror Story.

She's back! Gaga has been focusing on her acting career lately so her music has had to take a back seat

Put on your blue suede shoes in Lady Gaga's Brain Atwood pumps

She's known for her wacky sense of style and love of crazy heels and if we had to pick one celebrity's shoe wardrobe to raid it might just be Lady Gaga. She's never seen without a pair of designer stems, favoring brands such as Christian Louboutin, Gianvito Rossi and Alexander McQueen and rocking styles in an array of colors, shapes and trends.

Brian Atwood has to be one of her most labels when it comes to shoes though, and that's exactly where these gorgeous blue suede courts are from. We were rather taken with these classic pumps, and even more so when we spotted the neon yellow detail to the heel. These are the 'Mercury' from Brain Atwood, and as well as Gaga's blue and yellow version, they come in many other colors and prints. Luckily for all of us, her exact pair are now marked down at TheOutnet.com, so hot foot on over to the right to snap up a pair.

If it's blue suede shoes you're after though, click through the options below, where we've rounded up blue courts from across the web. Our top pick has to be the LK Bennett pair (such a beautiful shape) but also try Steve Madden, Ivanka Trump and Nine West.

Treading the line between both acting and singing, Gaga admitted she had been taking inspiration from her stint in the show to help with her fifth studio album, which is expected for release later this year.

'I have returned to something I've believed in so much, which is the art of darkness,' she told Entertainment Weekly about the part.

But whilst she may be known for her flamboyant performances and outlandish costumes, Gaga also proved that she's not just a gimmick as she took to the Levi's stadium pitch to perform the National Anthem before Sunday's Super Bowl kicked off.

Inspired: Gaga admitted she had taken inspiration from the 'darkness' pf American Horror Story, so the work on her fifth album has no doubt been very intense and tinged with sinister undertones
