That looks nippy! Christie Brinkley, 62, snaps pal running down a snow-covered beach for a dip in the ocean as she enjoys winter wonderland weekend

Exercise is certainly a great way to keep the years at bay.

And the ever youthful Christie Brinkley, 62, is certainly proof of that.

But even she opted not to join her pal Masha Russia for a swim in the icy Atlantic off the coast of The Hamptons in New York on Saturday morning.

With the temperature a bone numbing 25F, she was happy to watch and take snaps as her friend ran down the snow covered beach and into the water.

And she shared the images on Instagram, saying: '@masharussia taking an icy dip .. Actually more than a dip, a real swim! Yes that's snow on the beach!#therapeutic #askyourdoctorfirst!'

She and rocker John Mellencamp, her beau of four months, arrived in the posh community of Southampton on Thursday for a long weekend to celebrate her birthday two days earlier and enjoy Super Bowl 50.

'The Hamptons landscape has become a beautiful etching thanks to this morning's beautiful snowfall!' she captioned one snap of trees. She went on to call others 'magical,' adding, 'After the storm, we are giddy from the light and beauty!'

The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl enthused: 'We sure have been treated with exquisite beauty this week end ! Wishing everyone a spectacular Super Bowl Sunday! #Hamptons

The Broncos won and Christie was quick to honour one member of the team, posting a photo of the team's quarterback, saying: 'Congratulations to #18 an honorable man and giant in his field Peyton Manning. #sb50 #goodgame.

And it's good to know even a slender celebrity enjoys a Super Bowl blow out as she added the hashtag '#i atetoomuch.'
