She shares an over-the-top kiss with her co-star Will Ferrell, and it seems Kristen Wiig was really looking forward to watching the scene on the big screen on Tuesday.

The 42-year-old sparkled and shone in a bright gold gown that had an image of glossy red lips sewn upon the hip.

Kristen's floor length frock flashed the flesh thanks to its sheer and see-through fabric, as well as it's plunging and elegant neckline.

The see-through lace fabric exposed Kristen's sun kissed legs as it trailed the purple carpet.   

Putting her famous features front and center, Kristen pulled her golden hair back into a pony tail that allowed several loose strands to fall out of place for an added relaxed vibe. 

The ultra glamorous look was complete with a flawless finish of make-up, which included bronze eye shadow, blush, and a glossy slick of nude pink lipstick for a subtle shine.

Kristen is a newbie in the all-star cast, which also features Justin Theroux and Owen Wilson, but it's also a new role for the Bridesmaids actress.

She plays an older woman who, it's safe to say, has had a little work done in the make-up and lip prosthetics department.

During an appearance on Today, Kristen and Will Ferrell discussed their dramatic and hilarious kiss, which sees them lock lips through Kristen's elaborate costume.

'Kristen just said, "You know what? I'm okay with whatever,"' said Will.

'And I'm like, "Okay, vice versa, same here," and then Ben said "Action" and that's what happened,' Kristen added, referring to director and star Ben Stiller. 

'And then he yelled cut, and said, "I don't know what I'm watching, but keep going,"' he added. 

The new film sees Ben reprises his role as top male supermodel Derek Zoolander, with Owen as his best friend and fellow model Hansel McDonald.

Penelope Cruz is a new addition to the cast as Valentina Valencia, an Interpol special agent with a penchant for riding motorcycles.

The sequel also sees Will Ferrell back as Jacobim Mugatu and Ben's wife Christine Taylor as journalist Matilda Jeffries. 

Zoolander 2 is released in cinemas on 12 February.
