A 59-year-old man has been arrested on a beach and charged (centre) with the rape, kidnapping and attempted murder of two young women who were seriously injured while camping in the sand dunes at a South Australian national park (left and bottom right). Police were called to the Coorong National Park, south-east of Adelaide, on Tuesday at around 6.30pm after an injured woman fled her camp site and alerted local fishermen that she and her friend had been attacked by a man they had met and travelled with that day. The fishermen said she was 'naked' and 'screaming' when she ran out from the sand dunes. 'She didn't know what was going on... She's jumped in the car and is telling us "please get out of here",' one of the fishermen said. The two young campers, backpackers in their 20s, were seriously injured during the attack and were airlifted to a nearby medical centre. Police found a blood-spattered vehicle at the scene (top right).

Yelp has released its 2016 list of the 'Top 100 Places to Eat in Australia' which showcases the most popular and well reviewed restaurants. Waleed Latif, 21, and friends Dylan Djohan, 23, and Ashwin Kumar, 23, entered a guilty plea to raping an unnamed Norwegian girl at a nightclub (right) in the coastal town of Split on July 16 last year. They also paid the victim $31,594 as part of a deal with Croatian prosecutors to avoid a criminal trial and a possible jail sentence of up to 15 years. '(He is) perfect. When you do nothing, you are perfect,' the family told Daily Mail Australia at their home in Melbourne's south-western suburbs on Wednesday evening. 'When you are lying, you destroy lives'.

The father of a Scottish teenager who died after collapsing on a remote walking trail in West Australia says police took too long to respond. Ewan Williamson (left) died from severe heatstroke and exhaustion while walking the Badjirrajirra Loop Trail with his father, Gordon Williamson (right), in December, 2012. Mr Williamson told a coroner's inquest police took too long to process his emergency call because they couldn't understand him.

An eerie collection of photographs showcase the incredible underwater environment police divers (inset) in sinkholes near Mount Gambier, South Australia, this week. Ten members of the Water Police Operations team are taking part in the dives at Kilsbys Sinkhole and The Shaft - which is an astonishing 120 metres deep. Photos show divers disappearing into the dark (right), searching the ocean floor and posing for the camera (left). The training sessions are designed to help underwater officers be prepared for the difficult environments they are forced to navigate, such as other sinkholes and underwater caves.

The daily school run at this orangutan orphanage in Indonesia is slightly different to the average - and not just because it involves a dozen of apes. The young apes have all been orphaned and as a result are having to teach themselves the skills their mothers would have taught them in the wild. To help them learn, International Animal Rescue, a charity in Keptang, Indonesia, have built the forest school where the youngsters can climb and swing from the ropes and barrels. Each day, the orangutans are taken in wheelbarrows from their sanctuary to 'jungle school'.

A migrant was found clinging on to the upturned bow of his sinking boat in the Aegean Sea. Turkish coastguards spotted the boat in distress during their daily search and rescue flights. On board the boat were 34 people travelling to the Greek island of Lesbos. A total of 27 of them died and six were reported missing in the incident on Monday.

Los Angeles, California-based chef Neal Fraser invited about 40 food critics to a dinner last week and served them a five-course meal with the same ingredients used by McDonald's. The diners didn't know what the meal was for, and only learned that it was the same food sourced by McDonald's at the end of the dinner. The dinner was filmed and will be used in a McDonald's advertisement. A young French photographer is living the life that most can only dream of as he sails around the world on a catamaran, taking pictures of wildlife. Jonathan Jagot (inset), now 17, has been living on a boat with his parents since he was just eight and began sailing when he was 12. He has already been to 25 countries, including Malaysia, Namibia and Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean. He has photographed flying flamingos (top left) and whales (bottom right) in Madagascar, baby birds in Venezuela (top right) and monkeys in South Africa (bottom left). His photographs have even won him the title of BBC's Wildlife Photographer of the Year for his age category in 2015.

A male ostrich at a farm in Iran makes a 'booming' noise by inflating his throat to three times its original size. It's the only sound they can make other than hissing and is at a very low pitch but can be heard at great distance. Only males can 'boom' and it is also part of their complex mating ritual. The ostrich is the world's biggest bird and they have the largest eye of any land animal.

Blue Origin, the company created by Mr Bezos, successfully launched the New Shepard rocket for the first time in November, and repeated the take-off successfully just two months later. Now, footage of that flight has been revealed.
