And on Monday Katie Holmes made sure that her more casual attire was worthy of attention as she showed off how to do wrapped-up chic in the middle of the frosty season in New York City.

The 37-year-old showed off her amazing long, slender pins in a pair of skin-tight pale blue jeans as she stepped out to promote her new film Touch With Fire at the AOL Studios.

It was a far more flattering look than one she had rocked on Sunday while promoting the flick; a baggy pair of black bottoms and cosy heavy boots that certainly would have kept her warm against the wintry chill.

The actress stayed warm in her Monday cover up - a black puffy jacket with two silver zippered pockets teamed with the denim - while leaving the venue after promoting the Paul Dalio-directed drama.

Katie showed off her long legs in the skintight light wash denim, which she tucked into her black suede boots as she headed to the second venue of the day, the Apple Store in New York's SoHo.

However, it was also the star's incredible and massively on-trend hairstyle that stole the show as she chatted about the new flick: after having stepped out with her brunette tresses loose, she really impressed with her style later on.

The mother-of-one completed her lovely aesthetic with glossy pink lipstick, a touch of shimmery brown and gold eye shadow, as well as rosy blush on her cheeks.

The day before, Katie headed to a press junket for her film while wearing her puffy winter jacket, pairing the piece with loose fitted trousers and shearling lined lace up boots.

The former Dawson's Creek actress wore her hair loose, center parted and with a natural wave.

She kept her make-up light, adding just a touch of lip gloss, opting to show off her natural beauty.

Winter is here and what better way to celebrate then by donning a pair of snow boots.

Take a look at Katie Holnes, she switched out her red carpet heels for some comfy shearling boots that she paired with trousers and a puffer jacket.

For the speaker series, Katie was joined by her Touched With Fire co-star Luke Kirby as well as the director, Paul, and producer Jeremy Alter.

In the film, which is set to hit theaters on February 12, the starlet plays Carla, a patient at a psychiatric hospital who falls in love while there.

She is mom to nine-year-old Suri Cruise with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise.
