Katie Holmes usually is solo when she attends her movie premieres.

But on Wednesday the Dawson's Creek vet did something out of the ordinary - she brought not only her mother Kathleen but also her two sisters, Holly Hurley and Nancy Blaylock, to the New York premiere of her new film Touched With Fire.

The 37-year-old looked proud as she posed with her Ohio-based family while stunning in a Zac Posen gown.

Katie is the youngest sibling. Her sister Nancy is 40 and sister Holly is 46. She also has a sister Tamera and a brother Martin.

The star demanded attention as her floor length gown clung to her svelte shape.

The dress - which caught the light as she moved down the carpet - featured a high neck and a draped section which cinched in at her waist.

Making it perfect for a premier, the gown featured a small and subtle train adding to the glamour without deviated from the less is more style of the look.

Continuing with the theme, the former Dawson's Creek star wore her brown hair slicked down into a low bun with a centre part.

If you're ever wondering what Katie Holmes is wearing then you can't go too far wrong with one of two labels.

Isabel Marant and Zac Posen are her go-to brands (lucky Katie) and if she's running errands or hanging out with daughter Suri then she's more than likely in Marant. But if it's a red carpet scenario then place your bets on Posen.

She attended the premiere of her new movie Touched with Fire in New York last night wearing the latter and didn't she look stunning? This sleek and slinky gown is beautiful and skims her body like a dream.

After showing off her look with a solo sashay down the carpet, she was joined by the man responsible for the stunning dress, Zac Posen.

The designer was not, however, the star's date for the evening.

The pair play lovers who both suffer from bipolar in Touched With Fire.

With a challenging subject matter like mental illness as one of the main themes, Katie spent some time preparing for the role.

On Monday on Live With Kelly & Michael, the star said: 'Preparing for the role took a lot, there was a lot of research and I worked with someone to help me break it down and wrap my head around it.

'You don't want to take on a role like this and not do your best because so many people are suffering from this.'
