One of the stars of the VH1 show Mob Wives has been arrested after allegedly beating a woman.

Drita D'Avanzo is accused of punching a woman several times after the two had a verbal altercation in Staten Island.

TMZ reports that cops arrived on the scene to break up the fight and cited D'Avanzo with misdemeanor assault.

Her husband Lee, with whom she has two young daughters, also has a lengthy record and has twice served time in prison. 

He was convicted in 2001 for string of bank robberies and drug deals and in 2006 released from federal prison.

He went back to prison a few years later however after police arrested him while he and a group of men attempted to break into a bank vault. 

Lee has since been released from prison and he and his wife's tumultuous relationship plays a party in the VH1 reality show, though he is never seen on camera.

That show is currently in its sixth, and final season.

It was recently revealed that the most popular member of the cast, Angela 'Big Ang' Raiola, is battling stage IV lung and brain cancer.
