Some Library of Congress Websites Will Not Be Available August 9-11
We apologize for this inconvenience. Due to a planned power outage, many of the Library’s public websites (loc.gov and others) will be unavailable from 5 p.m. ET, Friday, Aug. 9 through Sunday, Aug. 11.
Copyright.gov, Congress.gov and catalog.loc.gov, however, will remain available.
Some Library Buildings Will Be Closed on August 10
On Saturday, Aug. 10, all reading rooms and research areas, the Library Shop, and the Madison and Adams buildings will be closed to the public. The Thomas Jefferson Building’s Great Hall and exhibitions will be open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on August 9 and 10. The Thomas Jefferson Building is located at 10 First St. S.E., Washington, D.C.
The Young Readers Center in the Jefferson building will be open on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Architect of the Capitol will be conducting essential maintenance on the Capitol Hill campus from Friday, Aug. 9 through Sunday, Aug. 11, resulting in power outages that will require these closings.
Library Exhibitions Will Remain Open
Visit the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. to see the following exhibits in the Thomas Jefferson Building which is open Monday – Saturday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The Thomas Jefferson Building is located at 10 First St. S.E., Washington, D.C. 20540.
