Some Problems an Oscar Can’t Fix

Given the dismal state of black education, maybe the energy going into protesting the Academy Awards could be better directed.

Spike Lee, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, and Rep. Danny Davis (D., Ill.) are calling for a boycott of the Academy Awards on Sunday. At the heart of the controversy is the fact that, for the second year in a row, no black actors were nominated for awards in the four major Oscar categories.
