Alicia Vikander's father appears to confirm romance with Michael Fassbender as he refers to actor as her 'boyfriend'... after THAT public Oscars smooch

They appeared to confirm their relationship with a kiss during Sunday night's Oscars ceremony.

But while neither Alicia Vikander or Michael Fassbender have verbally affirmed their relationship, it appears her father Svante Vikander has done the job for them after referring to the Shame actor as 'Alicia's boyfriend' during a recent interview with a Swedish publication.

Speaking to Expressen Noje, the psychiatrist opened up about the Danish Girl star's reaction to her Academy-Award win for Best Supporting Actress, as well as her 38-year-old German-Irish actor beau.

Recalling his reaction to her win, he gushed: 'I told people "I know her!” She was so happy and walked around with her statuette under her arm all night, it was so heavy he had to change arms sometimes.'

But the 27-year-old screen siren thought better than to have her parents party with her the whole evening through, as Svante revealed they called it a night before they moved on to the star-studded Vanity Fair party.

‘We went home at 12.30 and then they moved on to the Vanity fair party.'

And while Svante and Michael had a strong feeling Alicia would take home the prize, he confessed that the Macbeth stand-out - who was up for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of Steve Jobs in the movie of the same name - never expected to take home the prize. 

'Alicia’s boyfriend Michael did not expect to win,' Svante quipped, before adding: 'He joked beforehand that it was best for everyone. “The media will kill me if I steal the gong from Leo”, he said.’

Svante's are seemingly confirmation that Michael and Alicia are the real deal after the notoriously private couple shared their public smooch.

Earlier this month, the pair refused, despite enormous pressure, to kiss during a segment in the BAFTAs when a kiss-cam targeted celebrity couples. 

Alicia also headed into the Vanity Fair party on her lonesome, most likely so the star could revel in her moment as she glided into the bash proudly toting her Oscar, clad in a stunning floor-length sequinned gown. 

While the couple rarely speak about one another in public, MIchael did tell ET last month that he was 'very proud' of what his girlfriend has achieved.
