Kim Richards reveals her last words to late ex-husband Monty Brinson... and says she 'felt him leave' as he passed away after cancer battle

Kim Richards has revealed her last words to ex-husband and best friend Monty Brinson when he passed away in January.

The reality star welled up with tears as she told Entertainment Tonight that she held the 58-year-old as he lost his long battle with lung cancer.

'I said, "I love you," and then I felt him just kind of leave, and it was shocking,' the 51-year-old star revealed. 'I just didn't expect it.'

Kim and Monty had daughter Brooke, 29, together and remained close after their divorce in 1988.

As his health declined he moved in with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star.

'He was glad that he was going first because he didn't think he could bare it if it was me and he had to be left here,' Kim told ET.

Kim is on the road to recovery after entering rehab for the fourth time following a drunken arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel last year.

She was charged with trespassing, public intoxication, resisting an officer, and battery on a police officer. 

In August she was arrested for shoplifting from a Los Angeles Target department store.

When asked how her sobriety has been affected since Monty's death, Kim said: 'I'll just say my recovery is going amazing.'

Kim now stars in Lifetime's The Mother/ Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition which debuted on Tuesday night.

In it she and daughter Kimberly, 21, star alongside other famous mother-daughter duos as they work through their issues.

The former child star talked about how it's been to be surrounded by drinkers in the house the reality stars shared for the show.

'It wasn't tempting for me in anyway' she said, before adding her biggest problem on the show was Heidi Pratt (nee Montag) who she said likes to stir the pot.
