Jane Fonda, 78, defies her age in gold-embroidered kaftan at the Los Angeles Dinner: What You Do Matters gala

Jane Fonda is the ultimate feminist famous for both her outspokenness and her age-defying beauty.

The 78-year-old star displayed more of that ageless appeal as she attended the 2016 Los Angeles Dinner: What You Do Matters in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

Jane looked cool and hip in a billowy black and gold-embroidered kaftan that she paired with black trousers.

The acting veteran, who currently stars opposite Lily Tomlin in the Netflix series Grace And Frankie, continued to draw people to her side at the event, which took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and was presented by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

She wasn't alone, and was joined at the event by her beau, record producing legend Richard Perry, 73.

Jane, whose sparkling earrings peeked from the strands of her layered 'do, made a point to say hello to fellow actress Rosanna Arquette.

Rosanna, like Jane, comes from a famous acting family as well and is sister to Patricia Arquette and David Arquette.

The Desperately Seeking Susan star, now 56, looked chic in an all-black ensemble that included a clingy long-sleeved dress, black tights and sensible, lace-up shoes.

Rosanna was joined by her husband, investment banker Todd Morgan.

The actress and her husband were, in fact, honoured with the National Leadership Award.

The award was recognition for their efforts to preserve the history of the Holocaust while educating younger generations both in America and globally.

Todd said in a statement: 'It is truly an honor to be recognized by the museum for supporting Holocaust history and education.

'This is work I’m passionate about and, together with Rosanna, we strive to remind family, friends and colleagues of the urgency in preserving this history.

'The museum’s work in Los Angeles and nationally is critical in combating rising antisemitism, ongoing genocide and intolerable hate around the world.'

Jane continued her own cause, supporting Perry who was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease more than five years ago.

In 2014, Jane revealed Richard's diagnosis on her blog, explaining: 'We decided I should do it because his symptoms are increasing and I felt it was better that people know why he sometimes sways or staggers or stutters rather than them thinking he was drunk (which has happened) or just out of it.'
