Downcast Louis Tomlinson is supported by sister Lottie in Los Angeles while dealing with grandfather's death and ongoing custody issues with Briana Jungwirth

He's rumoured to be close to reaching a temporary custody settlement with the mother of his child, Briana Jungwirth, and has also just lost his beloved grandfather.

So it was little surprise that Louis Tomlinson looked far from happy when he stepped out in Los Angeles, on Wednesday morning, as he treated his sister Lottie to a coffee while running errands.

The Doncaster-born star appeared to be feeling slightly fed up, as he strode into the shop - his friends following in his wake.

With his head dipped, and a glum expression etched on his face, the No Control singer looked to be in his own world as he made the quick pit stop.

Dressed down in a casual ensemble, Louise appeared to be trying to ease back into the stride of things in California.

Teaming a denim shirt with a white printed tee-shirt, the Yorkshire lad opted for a classic casually chic look.

He rounded his look off with a pair of his customary black skinny jeans, and a pair of black Vans skate shoes.

And keeping his A-list credentials in place the star added a pair of Ray Ban aviators to his look. 

Wearing his brown locks in a sweeping tousled fringe, Louis also sported a smattering of scrappy stubble on his cheeks and chin.

The pop star - who is currently on an indefinite hiatus from his chart-topping band - didn't appear to want to waste any time in the cafe; making a hasty departure as soon as he and his group had been served.

His trip to the coffee shop is the first time the star has been spotted since the latest round of his rumoured custody woes has surfaced.

It was reported last week that the singer and Briana, 23, had managed to reach an amicable 'temporary custody settlement' in their battle over newborn son, Freddie Reign.

But it has now been alleged that a major condition of the agreement is preventing Louis's new girlfriend Danielle Campbell from having access to the baby boy.

According to TMZ, Briana is concerned about another woman interacting with her child and interfering with the 'critical bonding period' between mother and son.

While Louis hopes to spend time with Freddie in his Los Angeles home with Danielle present, Briana is said to be determined that the pop star only visit Freddie at her house, alone.

Louis and The Originals actress Danielle have been inseperable since they started dating last year and their romance has intensified since Louis has been based in LA.

The singer was reported to have instructed a lawyer on Friday morning after the mother of his child has prevented him from seeing the one-month-old.

TMZ claims they also went head-to-head with Jungwirth over money, with relations going sour when 23-year-old Briana asked for 'way more' financial support than the singer, 24, was willing to agree.

The latest settlement, regarding both custody and child support, will be made formal in the coming weeks.

According to the site, it currently allows Louis 'access to the child for several hours at a time during the week, but he will not have any overnight visits.'

The original TMZ report asserts that he was fighting to get an order which forces the LA-based stylist to give him 'significant access' to Freddie.

However Louis hasn't had the easiest of times recently, as following his happy appearance at the BRITS on Wednesday, the star was left mourning the loss of his beloved grandfather on Sunday.

The news was broken by his little sister Phoebe, who posted a picture of their grandfather on her Instagram with the caption: 'RIP grandad Keith. You were so kind grandad!!❤️❤️❤️.'

And while Louis has remained silent regarding the matter on all social media channels, the star and his family were sure to have been somewhat comforted by the outpouring of condolences on Sunday - with Louis' fans causing #RIPKeith to trend.
