With June gloom hitting Los Angeles early, the fog robbed many of their usually sunny Californian dispositions.

Lena Dunham certainly dressed to match the weather as she stepped out in an all-grey look on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old went for a very muted colour palette as she headed to a work meeting in West Hollywood - but that did not last for long.

Ready to disco: Lena Dunham went from wearing a drab look to a fab Seventies-inspired one in Los Angeles, California, on Wednesday

The Girls star kicked off her day in a very conservative ensemble featuring a pair of loose fit black slacks with a heavy grey long sleeved top featuring a raw edge.

The actress - who kept her phone stuck to her ear - added a pair of pumps and a Chanel Flap bag.

The star wore no makeup and dragged her auburn locks back in a messy bun.

Lena's look could not have been more different to the one she had on a few hours later for a Paper Magazine shoot.

Posting a sneak peek of the shoot on her Instagram, Lena looked ready to hit Studio 54 in a blue halter neck dress with silver stars and snake embellishment with pink feathers in the hem.

Not done there, the ensemble also featured a velvet and blue fur coat and the actress wore a big blonde over the top wig.

Lena wore some very glamour makeup too with dark red lips and exaggerated eyelashes.

Lena seemed to be really getting into the role of Seventies disco goddess, perhaps inspired by her dream in which she dreamt Rihanna told her how to act.

Lena said on Twitter: 'Dreamed Rihanna explained method acting to me. She said before a sad scene you just call your ex and have him say mean s**t.'
