Eddie Redmayne's pregnant wife Hannah tenderly touches her blossoming baby bump as she and the actor enjoy a spot of quality time with his parents in LA

He may have failed to clinch his second Best Actor gong at the Oscars on Sunday night.

But Eddie Redmayne looked to be happier than ever as he and his pregnant wife Hannah enjoyed some quality time with the actor's parents in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.

The couple, both 34, appeared to be making the most of their time in California - after flying out for the 88th Academy Awards - as they were joined by his parents, Richard and Patricia.

Embracing the laid-back nature of the West Coast, the party of four headed down to the beach in Santa Monica for a stroll.

Hannah in particular seemed delighted to be spending some time with her parents-in-law, and couldn't hide a wide smile.

But with herself and The Danish Girl star, Eddie, currently expecting their first child, talk had clearly turned towards the next generation of the Redmaynes; with Hannah tellingly cradling her bump in mid-conversation  at one point.

The publicist was positively glowing, and appeared to be enjoying her break from London - where the couple live.

Wearing a casual yet chic ensemble, Hannah subtly showed off her blossoming baby bump in a floaty white tank top, which she teamed with a smart and stylish grey blazer.

And rounding off her relaxed look she also sported a pair of skinny fit jeans which she teamed with a pair of polka dot espadrilles.

The brunnette beauty wore her long tresses loose, and let her natural beauty shine through with a minimal palette of make-up.

But while the couple - who married in 2014 - were obviously meant to be enjoying a spot of R&R, Eddie looked as though he was still firmly in contact with his office as he looked engrosses in his phone at one point.

But whatever had piqued his interest was soon set to one side, as he and Hannah strolled along with his parent, chatting and laughing.

And Eddie's parents Richard, a banker in the City, and Patricia, the head of a relocation business, looked to be equally as pleased to be in their youngest son's company - even if it wasn't to celebrate a second win at the Oscars.

Following his triumph at the 2015 Academy Awards, picking up the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, Eddie had been nominated for the award again.

But while his turn in The Danish Girl was critically acclaimed, the British star lost out to Leonardo DiCaprio who - following four previous nominations for the gong - clinched his first win for his turn in The Revenant.
