Playful Cheryl posts snap of 'mystery man line-up' before her and Liam Payne cosy up for another selfie... as ex JB mourns one-year anniversary of his father's death

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini posted an Instagram snap of her One Direction beau Liam Payne and her 'mystery man line-up' on Wednesday - and soon after, Liam posted a romantic follow-up snap.

Pop star Cheryl, 32, captioned her cheeky image with the words: 'My mystery man line up #whosthemysterman #whoisit #whosworthit,' after sharing a selfie with a male's arm around her.

The images come as Cheryl's ex, Jean-Bernard posted about mourning his father on the one-year anniversary of his death with a heartbreaking Instagram picture.

Having fun there? Just a matter of minutes later, singer Liam posted a snap of the pair in the backseat of a car, as he lay back in Cheryl's arms while gazing into the lens

Posting a picture of a beautiful sunset, he wrote: 'It's been one year today since my dad passed away... there is not one day I don't think about you.'

Meanwhile, playful Cheryl appeared to be in high spirits as she posted her social media snaps.

Wearing a patterned red bomber jacket over a black top and trousers, she posed with her arms outstretched with her line-up behind her.

The snap comes after she caused fans to speculate over her romance with Liam after she shared a selfie of herself cuddling up to a mystery male.

The smiling singer can be seen sitting in what appears to be a car while an arm is slung around her shoulders in the picture posted on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon.

One fan was adamant the picture featured 22-year-old Liam as they commented saying: 'Awwwww in the arm of Liam.'

Fans immediately began to wonder if the arm belonged to 1D star due to the same silver watch striking a resemblance to the timepiece featured weeks before on his own Instagram page.

However, eagle-eyed fans pointed out that Liam's feather tattoo and Hieroglyphics tattoo were not visible in the snap, meaning the arm did not belong to him. 

Cheryl simply captioned the image with a smiley face emoticon while she could be seen showing off her famous features in the snap.

Fan previously expressed concern over a possible split between new lovebirds after Liam deleted a picture of the two of them together from his Instagram page on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old boyband singer had set a black and white selfie of him and the 32-year-old as his Instagram profile picture on Sunday, seemingly confirming the reports of their fledgling romance.

But by Tuesday the photo was gone, and there were plenty of worried messages left by admirers of the couple already convinced it's over between them.

Leading the way was @styleshiccups, who wrote: 'But what if Cheryl and Liam really did split already and that's why he changed his icon. Could be possible and not a rumor.'

Another user, @beaurxious, appeared concerned as they wrote: 'OMG. Liam Payne and Cheryl is over ?'

'Liam has changed his Instagram icon have him and Cheryl split already,' asked @irelandladniall.

And @kianssubwayy.added: 'Liam changed his picture on Instagram & deleted the picture of him with Cheryl. Hmmm.'

The picture - which showed Cheryl and Liam seemingly snuggling down in bed together - was the first confirmation from the pair that the sudden rumours over their relationship. 

In it, Liam appears shirtless with a small smile on her face, while make-up free Cheryl holds up a peace sign to the cameras.

Cheryl was seen to respond to critics of her shock romance on Monday, when she briefly changed her bio to: 'When people hate on you, it’s because you’ve got something they want.'

However, the riposte would have gone under the radar had it not been for eagle-eyed fans, as the X Factor judge swiftly updated it to: 'Cheryl..All love Good vibes only✌❤️'

The former Girls Aloud singer is also reportedly set to drop her married name following the disintegration of her marriage to restaurateur Jean-Bernard.
